Is it rude to ask one of your BM's

to cover up a tattoo on her arm?? I mean... I love tattoos, but there not for me, and I just don't want them in my wedding photos. Would you be insulted?

I would do the same if one of my BM's had her tat showing. Its not rude if you ask nicely

I don't know if it is right to ask. I think I would be annoyed, not offended if someomne asked me. Maybe just try and get her to stand on the oposite side for most of the pics

I am a BM in march and to quote bemmyoko ' if I decide they bother me and want you to cover them I will pay for it.' sounds totally fair to me

I thought so... but the people at work were like 'thats so wrong, you can't do that.'

Yup, I am planning on buying the very expensive dermablend to have Oksana cover it up for her. So I didn't think it was a big deal, until people told me it would be wrong.

I was just thinking of this this morning. I was looking at a pic of a bridal party and 1 of the girls had a tattoo. The I was thinking how would I feel?

I think I would ask them to cover it. There is a reason why we asked these people to be in the wedding party, because we love them. But I don't know if I would want to look at my pictures that I paid A LOT of $$ for and see the tattoo.

Hope I am not being harsh

I know! And if I want to pay to airbrush it out of my photos... it's a lot more than just covering it for one day!

I guess it depens on your friend. I do know people that LOVE thier own ink and would never want to cover it up. But then there might be some that would understand and happily accomodate you.

I personally wouldnt ask someone to cover it up, but I think the thing that is key (which you are doing) is offering the makeup and services to help conceal it.

With either of the gowns Deb has chosen for her girls, her MOH, her Sis, Donna, will have her tatoo on display, because it's on her right shoulder. But, It's a pretty one, a blue cross. Mary MOB

my sister is the only one in my bridal party that has visibal tattoos. She has one on her foot and I don't care about that one because they are wearing long dresses. But she has one on her wrist and I asked her if she could cover it up. she said that's fine but i dont even know if you will really see it since it is on the inside of her wrist. so I might just leave it. Thankfully al the other bridesmaids htat have tattoos they are either on their hip or lower back!!

But I dont thik it is rude to ask with the money I am paying for photos I don't want some huge tattoo on my BM's arm to show just my opinion!

The tattoo I'm referring to is a heart with a name memorial. So I know it means a lot to her. But it will bother me having it on display. I think I'm just gonna say kindly if she would mind covering it. If she says yes, then I'll take it from there.

i actually don't think it's rude, but how would she cover it? i don't have any tattoos, so i don't know if you just mean with a shawl or something or is there some other way to cover it? make up?

My BF went through this, and she just had the photgrapher position us where you couldn't see the BM that was covered in tats!

I'm in a similar situation and imo if you're going to buy the coverup for it then out of respect (and being your friend) I don't see why they wouldn't do it if it bothers you. It's not like you're making her pay for the coverup for it and it's only for a day.

I'd say it as politely also drawing attention to the fact that you understand that it's a tatto that means alot to her but that it would look odd in pictures and that you'd really appreciate (and spend your own money on) if she covered it up for the sake of picutures, etc.

I really don't think it is right to ask someone to cover their tattoo, but it's just an opinion. Everyone else seems to be ok with it.. I was thinking maybe you can just ask the photographer to photoshop the tattoo out of the pictures in your album. It shouldn't be that hard for them to do that. Totally your call though and your friend should respect whatever decision you make whether she agrees with it or not, it is YOUR wedding!

I agree. I don't think it's rude at all.
