what do u think?I have a long must take list. prob like 30 photos.

I do not think it's rude..yes they are professionals but not everyone wants the same photos.

I plan on giving my photographer must take photos just so that he has an idea of what I want..we do not have that many though

Go for it..your paying and the one that has to look at your pics

No...most will even give you a form with popular ones that you can check off, plus you can write in any specific ones.

Make a copy for yourself before you give it to them, and keep it with you day of

they are your HIRED photographers, so technically, they are supposed to do anything you ask them to do.

it's your wedding, so you should have the photos that YOU want.. so go for it!

I would say to not give them a list of the usually shots they should be taking (you guys with your parents, you guys with his parents, Bride with Groomsmen/Groom with BMs, etc) because those are standard shots and they should know to take those.

But any sort of creative shots you've come across or any ideas for shots you might have, definitely tell them about those!

Not rude at all! Duet actually gives you a list to fill out for 'must take photos' b/c they dont want to miss anythign!

i woould definately give them a list, but i agree with the OP, i would only give them a list of creative shots - the typical shots everyone takes anyway

Not rude at all - im going to put an actual shot list together w/ head shots of important family members and what not.

We do it for work for events and its super helpful so the photog knows who is who and what their roll is.

When I met w/my photog I explained that was going going to have a list of shots that were very important for me to have. He was very open to the idea. The ONLY thing that I think *might* aggrivate them is if you print out photos & expect them to replicate it.

FYI...be sure you give the list to your photog(s) and your DOC (if you have one) if not, a BM and have her check off the photos as he takes them.

My photographer is getting a very specific list. I dont want to waste time taking pictures I dont really care about even though they are traditional, and I want to make sure he has the shots I truly want in there.

I would say its an absolute must to provide a list.

I just asked my photographer this question and he said no. I told him, I don't know if I'm being insulting but there's types of pics I want.. and he said no prob, show me. Pheewwww! What a relief!

its not rude to give them a list of i want this pic or i want a pic with this person.....

It is however rude to give them copies of pics from another photographer......they are artists and while you can tell them the type of pic let them use their own creativity.

Most will NOT copy an exact photo.

Ours said they would take a list, but they didn't want a 3page list with things like, bride and groom, bride and father, etc. They know they need the typical shots. But if you want something different, like you specifically want a shot of you and your new hubby in a particular location, or that you want a pic with your great aunt soandso, there would be no other way to know other than making a list.

ITA..

Definatly give your photog a list of mst have pics. that day you are not going to remember exactly what pics you want and when you look back you might be like s**t i dont have a pic with so and so person and you might be dissapointed. Most pics any pro. photographer would know what to take any way.

I worry about this kind of thing with like every vendor, I'm always worried they'll be insulted that im not giving them much creative license, like my florist too, is it rude to say you want something look exactlyy like a certain picture? lol

Not at all!! Some of them even ask for a list!
