is it rude to give photographer a must take list?

No No No DEF NOT RUDE!!!!!! I soooo regret not giving my photog must take list... I actually had one with me on the day of but completely forgot to give it to him.... I missed ALOT of shots that i had wanted... and its depressing... But honestly, if you have a really good photog that knows 1000s of wedding poses, then you shouldnt run into this prob... mine really wasnt that experienced

not rude but dont put the obvious stuff on there like you with your parents or anything like that

my photographer asked me to make up a list and to give it to them a few weeks before the wedding. I think its a standard thing to do so that they dont miss anything

Let me just say this, I didn't make a list and now when I look at my pics I'm not overly impressed! The photog might not like you giving them a list, but at least you'll have pics that you want and will be happy with them and in the end that's what really matters! Do it!

Nothing rude I'd say. Your photog is a pro, and you are a client. Express your need the best way you can so he gets a chance to satisfy it.

If you are concerned about you limiting the photog talent / creativity by imposing a list of shots, just express this concern as well.

I don't think it's rude at all. I am going to print out the photos i would like taken and set up a meeting the week prior to the wedding to make sure that the photos i want are are able to be taken. I figure, it's our wedding and we are paying for it.

i have like a 4 page list..im paying them, and after paying them thousands of dollars they should make me happy

besides, i have heard sooooo many stories of brides who didn't, and then never got some of the 'obvious' shots you would expect

my doc will get a copy of the list, and make sure they're all taken

No...most will even give you a form with popular ones that you can check off, plus you can write in any specific ones.

Make a copy for yourself before you give it to them, and keep it with you day of


My photographer gives us the form to fill out. ask your photgrapher

I don't think it's rude, however, we should not go overboard with pages & pages of photos. They might see it like we're telling them how to do their job. I can't stand when someone is telling me how to do my job. I find it insulting. I'm an audio engineer, don't hire me to record your music if you're not sure I know what I'm doing.We all look at these photographers & the books they have. We know the style we like when we hire them. If we have shots we want taken make a list to remind youself than ask them, I'm sure they will not say no.

My photgrapher told me to start looking at what 'must take photos' i want and to make a list or print out the pictrues so we can re-incorporate them!

No way, my photographer told me closer to the wedding he want's must take pics because the day of he didin't want me to forget anyone that I want pics of or with.

My photographers actually encouraged us to send them any must take pictures. She said they won't get offended at all by them.

Not rude at all. Everyone has a vision and not every photographer knows what you're thinking. Better to cover your bases than have any regrets later on. You cannot re-do your wedding.

Not rude at all! Duet actually gives you a list to fill out for 'must take photos' b/c they dont want to miss anythign!
