Is it rude to not provide a shuttle?

Original post by july2010

We're blocking rooms at a hotel for the bridal party and OOT guests. Is it rude to only provide transportation for us and the bridal party? I know the OOT guests will be renting cars. The RH is only 4 miles from the hotel. I'm also keeping the bar open later at the hotel so that those wanting to hang out and drink can do so and stay at the hotel.

Where did you find a shuttle for $200, is that through the hotel? I guess its not rude, I just know I would like it if I was the guest! Its expensive though and we're on a very tight budget. They're all originally from NY so they know their way around which is good. Its a big drinking crowd so that's why we're having the bar at the hotel open until 3 am so people who want to get trashed can do it later! If we can find something reasonably priced I would do it. Thanks for all your help!

the only reason I have a shuttle because it is include with the hotel ( it only holds 13 people) and takes two trips.

I would provide one to be honest. Since they are OOT they might not know their way around and i am really against drunk driving so a shuttle will allow your guests to have a good time and get back safely.

I def don't think it's rude at all. However, I am very against drunk driving, and a disgusting thing like that (drunk driving) will not be part of my wedding day. See if your hotel can provide you one for a reduced rate maybe? Or maybe they can recommend one

i dont think its rude, per se. i think it depends on how many people you have staying at the hotel and how much they would charge you for the shuttle- if it was worth it or not.

i think it'd be nice, but its definitly not a necessity. I might do a shuttle only if a lot of rooms are booked, if its only a few people i dont think its gonna be worth it...
