My wedding is on 3/27/09. Is it too early to start buying cake topper, aisle runner, favors, gift box and etc. The wedding is in 8 months so I don't want things to just sit in boxes and possibly get ruined but I'm afraid if I wait until the last minute to buy these things it'll feel like I'm spending way too much $$$.

What are most of you doing? Buying things early or waiting?

If you see something you like, especially those things, it's not too early. There is time to LOOK at lots, but if you find it, get it! It's one more thing out of the way, and you know you need it right? I've been looking at cake toppers for months, and there aren't too many 'new ideas' coming out, so I'm about ready to buy, and I'm after you!

I do not think it is too early...just make sure to store things in a place where they will not get ruined. I already received my toasting glasses and cake topper as an engagement gift!

Favors i think are too early because you dont have an exact headcount, my wedding a year away and i already have the cake topper, DOJ, headpiece/veil, invitations, purse, things like that.....so youre not too early at all!

I would def start buying things now. Do it when you can. If you have the money adn know what you want then go for it. I'm waiting a little longer but I'm sure I will be going on a buying rampage in teh near futuer. I like getting things checked off my list. I cant let things wait. It drives me crazy

Not only all of the above, but sometimes when you get stressed you tend to forget about the little details. So far I have 90% of my little things taken care of...still more coming...but IMO the details are great! :) I still need to book the limos, church and DJ, but just about everything else is taken care of. Take a peak in my album for most of the little things. There are more, but I just wasn't able to post them yet.... I will soon! Get as many little things done now.....

P/S...the BEST sales for weddings go on usually the end of summer....'wedding season' is nearing an end... Just so you know.

Go for it! As long as once you buy these things that you don't second guess yourself! My wedding is next May and I'm getting these things as soon as I get around to it!

i am absolutly starting now and mine is in august! This way i can wait and scout out sales and also so im spending a little bit of money over the coarse of a year versus a lot of money right before the wedding. not too early at all... although i might have to start renting a storage unit soon. lol
