Is it too early to start looking for flowers???

Original post by neesiepie

I have 1 1/2 yrs left before the wedding...should I hold off on flowers, or just get it all done now?
So far, I've been engaged for a little over 3 mos and have: church, hall,dj,photog, limos, and my dress.....

should i start looking for flowers now? or hold off? I dont want all the good ones to get booked before I can look at them

Go for it I have been engaged for 2 1/2 years and I was done planning in about 1 1/2. Now I am just doing little stupid things. like addressing envelopes! It reduced a lot of possible stress!

Nessiepie, good for you, that's great you are able to get so much done so early!

I had almost all our stuff done extremely early. I can say that it was the best thing I could have done. You will find a million of other little things that have to be done, when your date gets closer. I would get it out of the way. It is one less thing you will have to worry about.

Well, my wedding is a little more than a year away, about 13 months, so I am going to see about flowers now, one because I don't want her to get booked for my date, two because my wedding will in may, and looking now will give me an idea of what types of flowers are in season ( cost-effective) vs. what's not in season (expensive)

It's not too early to book your florist, but I know I changed my mind a million times about what flowers exactly I wanted. So maybe you can book the florist but not make any flower decisions until closer to your date. Unless you are not a nutball like I am and you know what you want

Well, you need your BM dresses first. Make sure you bring a swatch. My sister's florist did an amazing job. The colors they picked really popped with the color of the dress. it was amazing. You can book it as soon as you get the BM dresses. But you don't have to look this early.

i dont have my bridesmaid dresses yet, but i already booked my florist. you can tell them a genereal idea of what you want. you dont need to have the final idea when you book. FYI.

I'm getting married the same day as you and I already have my florist. I guess it's a matter of preference.
