Is it too late to ask someone to be a BM? (updated)

When FH and I first got enagaged, he wanted to ask his SIL to be part of the bridal party as one of my BM. I quickly dismissed it (in front of her no less-what a dork I can be) and moved on. Now we have her husband (FH's brother) and FH niece as our FG as well already.

She's been super helpful and is even helping me out this weekend with shoes and jewelry shopping- she is coming all the way from NJ to LI.

How can I ask her to be another BM for me without sounding stupid? Is it too late to ask her? I am not worried about her ordering a dress since David's Bridal takes about a month or two to come in.

Yesterday went really well and she said YES when I asked her.

We had a really productive day, I got my DOJ and also ordered my shoes as well . After FH and I went and took her out for lunch and then I popped the question at the right time- we started talking about the BP and I was thinking 'this is my chance to ask'..lol and her eyes bugged out a bit literally and she said yes... I'm so happy that it worked out.

you must be relieved!! I hate that feeling in your stomach!!

Soo happy that you are both so happy. she truly earned her bridesmaid status!!
