Is it too soon to look for a dress... my WD is 06-07-08 and i want to lose a lil weight like 15lbs.... i Dont want to deal w/ major alterations

nope! i got my dress already and my wedding is aug 2008 lol..it takes forever for the dresses to come in anyway so i wouldnt worry!

My wedding is after yours, 7-11-08 and I ordered my dress in January. I have already lost almost 15 lbs. since ordering and plan on losing at least another 15 lbs. I ordered my dress one size smaller so alterations won't be tremendous.

I don't think it's too early. My wedding is in Aug of 08. I have my first appointment next week. I plan on ordering mine definitely by the end of this month.

I ordered my dress already! They said it's going to take 8-10 months so by the time I get it it'll be Oct-Nov (about 7-8 months before my date)

NO! i think you should start looking. some can take a few months to come in and if for some reason you do need alterations, they can take a while to do. Happy Hunting!

My wedd is June 1 of 08, I will start my gown searching later on this month, but dont worry you stil have plenty of time

I don't think it's too soon at all. It may take longer than you think so starting early is good. I've tried on tons of dresses and I still haven't made up my mind so I am glad I started last month even though my wedding is next April. Good luck with your search!

I got my dress this past Saturday. I had wanted to lose weight before buying a dress, so I lost ten pounds, bought my dress and hope to lose ten more. you can get your dress with ten extra pounds, just tell the bridal consultant that you want to lose more weight my consultant told me it should be fine since the lines/seams in the dress won't make it a problem!
nope i picked mine out in febuary and just ordered it in april

I just ordered mine and was between a 6 and a 4 and the guy at the store decided to go with the 4
I got some work to do, dress comes in late Sept....

from what i have heard 15 lbs really isn't too big of a deal. usually its when it hits 20 and over when the charges are a bit higher since your taking in more.
then again if you are thin and dropping 15 then yea i agree then it could be a big factor. Tell the person who you are ordering with and they will do what they feel is best.

i dontthink its early at all......if ur worried about losing the weight and the alterations ask when u go what they think u should do.....they have enough experience with that they should be able to give u good advice....my weding is 10 3 08 and i got my dress in january lol......i hope to lose about 10 to 15 lbs as well but my width usually never changes so i should only have to get around the stomach taken in...hopefully lol...u just have to see how the dresses run and fit thats all....u know ur body....u knwo where u lose it and where u dont..ya no?

i asked my shop if i could take measurements right before they place the order and they agreed. I put in my deposit but didn't take my measurements yet - that will happen in sept or oct so i have some time to drop some pounds!
