I did not cry nor my mother, but i knew it was the one when i walked out the dressing room and did not want to take the dress off. It was different and i knew it stood out from all the others.

I didn't cry, I was pretty overwhelmed though. My sisters had tears in their eyes and my Mom was trying to hide it. I am a true believer now of that 'tingly' feeling you get when you know you've found your dress. I remember hugging the lady @ the store and being so thankful!

I cry about everything, but I don't do the cry for joy thing. I only cry when I'm sad.
But I did know it was the one when I put it on. You will know when it is. You'll be trying on dresses thinking 'how will I know?' and then all of the sudden it will hit you.

Re: Is it true-do you really cry?
I didnt.
I didnt even like it on the hanger. It was 'ok'
I tried it on and it felt so good and fit so nicely and looked great.
I twist I twirled.. turn to the lady and said
'ok, i'll take it'
and walked back to take it off. Just knew.
That was two months after I was engaged, a year and two months before my wedding and 12 dresses and 5 shops

Re: Is it true-do you really cry?
i have read this a few times to see what others have said to get an idea of when I should know it is the one.. but my answer is.. yes you cry.... when you CAN NOT find the one you want!..
i am torn between two and can not decide!.. i just retried one on today and had to put down a 50$ deposit to be able to take pics so i can show my mom (she is out of state and i can not find a sample of this dress on LI to try it on with her).. well maybe i am the out of state one then?!?! anyway... i am glad i did cause i did some altering to the pics i had taken with a program (adding bead work along the waste) and i love it so much more now! i think it just put it over the top as my fav over the other.. but i am going to NY shortly and will retry on the other again in a couple of day to see how i feel.. i am just soooo close to deciding!!!
if it helps.. i tried on over 70 dresses.. yes 70... i am crazy, no need to point it out... i am aware!!!

I cried and my mom did too. But I cry at almost anything emotional. But even if you dont actually cry, you will know when its 'the one'.

I didn't cry, but my MOH almost did! Same for my dressmaker and her daughter - to me, that meant more than anything!

Re: Is it true-do you really cry?
Maria cryed, but thats what moms do. When I showed the dress to my MOH I got nervous and anxious but I didnt cry. Dont get me wrong I LOVE my dress, I just didnt have that emotional ah ha moment the world tells you that you are supposed to have. And I am okay with that. I had the 'ah ha' moment when I met my future husband hahahah

I did not cry and neither did my mom. I did expect to tho b/c we are both pretty emotional. Maybe she didnt because she'd been through it with my sister already. When they went shopping she sobbed like a baby.

Did you really cry when you found your dress? Or did your mom? If that hasn't happened, do you think you should keep looking?
No crying here--I knew I had the right dress, bc/ I was down to 2 I really liked & I couldn't decide, untill I switched back to the one I ended up buying & it felt so comfortable & natural to me, I then realized that the other dress made me feel a little exposed ( It had a very low back).

Re: Is it true-do you really cry?
The dress I chose was the first one I tried on at the salon. I didn't cry when I first tried it on, but as I tried on the other dresses, I kept saying I liked the first dress better. I narrowed it down to 2 choices. I tried on the other dress again and still thought I preferred the first dress. Then I tried on the first dress again and totally cried. My mom, grandmothers, and BMs (a bunch of people came with me) also cried. I didn't think I'd cry, but I totally bawled. The dress really made me feel beautiful and like a princess.
