Is it wierd that I want to go dress shopping by myself? I have so many friends and family that would love to go but I just know what I like and dont need other people's opinion. am i a wierdo?

not at all...people can sway your opinion...go alone and get what YOU LIKE...it doesnt matter what others like or dislike!

I would rather go alone to so this way I go with my own judgement. But I always take my mom with me or I can take my sister because they are both brutally honest

I have a problem relaxing bc i know everyones time is precious and then i feel rushed even though i know they are fine with it.. I would just feel comfy at my own pace

i'm the same way. i also hate that i have to keep dragging people with me bc i'm indecisive! i totally want to go by myself, but i feel weird--like eating alone in a restaurant or something...

I think it's a good idea. You could always see what YOU like and then have your top choices. Then you could bring someone with a valuable opinion. Good luck!

Thanks ladies.. I am going to try some on by myself not tell anyone and then bring my step mom and moh back with me just for the expierence.

You're not weird at all! It's nice to get an idea of what you like without anyone swaying or influencing your decision. My family and BP all live in NY and my first dress shopping experience was by myself here in Philly. It was a great experience because I got to take my own assessments of what I really liked and didn't like without everyone oohing and ahhing something I didn't like very much to begin with. I would highly recommend shopping on your own at least once!

i went by myself once and ended up finding my dress:)
i like shopping by myself... maybe i'm weird but i like going where I want to go, at my own pace, and not having to be confused by other people!
the sales girls probably thought i was a loser, but whatever, lol

nope you arent weird - i either wanted to go alone or with my FH - i didnt want to take anyone else but i think thats b/c i was a little upset that i didnt have my mom to come with me

No, you're FAR from weird! I have 2 MOHs that yelled at me b/c I told them I want to go only with my Mom. I sorta want to surprise the full bridal party that day... AND... my Mom has an HONEST opinion...she won't sway to what she likes, but what reeealy looks best on me. So... I'm more then liekly ONLY going with my MOm... :)

I was the same way! I got fed up with so many ppl and wound up going with two of my BMs and one (stranger) of their friends...
I liked that I could pic out what i wanted and not have to hear my mom saying 'No that's not it!' before I even came out of the dressing room!!!
Only advise is don't rush into any descison and just have fun
