Yep..my husband works for Keyspan. I heard the strike can be as early as after midnight on Friday! I am praying that they don't have one. THey have been picketing the last few weeks and had a union meeting this weekend.

He doesn't know. The company wants to: 1.Take away free healthcare (we have no premiums, not even for the family plan) 2. The schedule is based on seniority. The older workers that have been there forever have a set schedule. THey want to make them work rotating schedules (every week) My husband does that now. I sucks! These poor older workers will have to work midnights and some other crappy schedules.

What yard does he work out of? My DH works in Hewlett.

I thought I saw them picketing a couple of weeks ago at the Hicksville office when I passed by. I hope they don't have to go on strike, for the workers sake.
