Nope- but they are pretty similar. Matire'd works with getting the RH ready, while your DOC makes sure all your vendors are doing their jobs and takes care of any last minute hitches. If you're getting married at the RH and then having the reception following I wouldn't bother with a DOC- you'll have a matire'd and a bridal attendant or two.

Hmmm ... If the Maitre'D follows you around all day making sure everything is perfect, I would think a DOC is unnecessary ... but I'm not sure if they are the same either ...

I had a Maitre'D as well as a bridal assistant for my wedding day and to be honest a DOC was not needed!!

I decided against the DOC since everything will be at my RH. I think ifiwas doing. Church, then pic spot then venue. DOC would be needed to keep everything flowing and make sure we have everything.

Adelina I can forward you an email from a DOC that states her duties

A Maitre'D is in charge of making sure everything at the hall runs smooth from the delivery of the food, to management of the waitstaff, etc.

The bridal attendant is their to walk you around and help you with your dress.

A DOC helps you with everything else. If at your hotel the flowers don't arrive, you want things to look a certain way at the curch or ceremony, helping you finalize the table seating, etc.

i agree with all the other responses

i'm having a DOC because we have 6 hours of pictures and getting ready with vendors BEFORE our ceremony. she's leaving shortly after the reception begins b/c by then i'll have my BA and Maitre'D. IMO not really necessary if you're doing ceremony and reception at the same place.

Thanks, girls. I went to my hall yesterday, and they had 2 parties going on and it looked like everyone was all over the place, which made me a bit worried. I'm using the same room for reception and ceremony - so in between, everything has to be set up and that part I want to make sure goes well.

everything at the RH is controlled by your MD, the DOC helps you before the RH with gtting ready, time managment and making sure everything up to the RH runs smoothly. Once you get to the RH the MD is trully in control. He maintains the flow of the wedding from your cocktail hour-- to the main dinning room- your entrance to the first dance to the cake cutting. The DOC is not going to be able to control much at the RH
