Is my brother a moron????

I swear, for an extremely intelligent person...he is not always the brightest crayon in the box. He text messages me last night and says that he thinks that tux it too much money to spend on one day ($135...not that unreasonable). So he asks me if the tux is a standard tux or if it is a special tux. I didn't know b/c FH took care of it, but I told him standard. Now he wants to wear the tux he already has and just rent the vest to match!!! I immediately called my mom and asked her to speak with him. How annoying!!!!

.........5 weeks to go from today

I never realized how different one tuxedo was from another until I went with FH to pick them out. The only thing that was easy was I knew I wanted wool and not polyester. They have different lapels and different numbers of buttons. So every tuxedo has a different look!

Ask him if maybe he'd like to buy a bridesmaid dress instead? He can spend around $200 on that, wear it once - PLUS still have to get shoes, get his hair done in an updo, his make up done, pay for a bridal shower, bridal shower gift, bachelorette party, etc.

Tell him comparatively speaking, it's much cheaper to be a groomsman than a BM, and if he hasn't been married yet, you'll probably be a BM in his wedding one day and have to spend a LOT more than that, so suck it up and PAY and match everyone else because you have a LOT going on right now and if he doesn't do what he's supposed to, you'll go Bridezilla on his AZZ!

Wow... that felt good!

Why can't people just go with the flow?! Our guys ended up paying $150! Good luck with your brother!

Depending on the tux, it may not be a problem. One of our groomsmen is a big man and Men's Wearhouse didn't carry any tuxes in his size. He had a tux at home so he bought the vest / tie that matched the groomsmen and wore it with his own tux. He matched the rest!! Depending on what your FH picked out, it could work.

But he shouldn't be causing you this stress before the wedding. He should be stressing your FH instead!! LOL
