I know I want purple, but what if my girls try on purple & I hate it. I'm thinking I should wait before I do anything else to be sure I have the right theme/color going. Correct?

Re: Is there a specific order to go in?
i would do flowers first because i think the flowers really set the tone for the reception and can help narrow done color choice for bridesmaid dresses

Re: Is there a specific order to go in?
Imo, it's flowers, BM dresses, invites, favors.
I would finish booking all of my major vendors first and then go on to the other things. Depending on who you want to use for invites their could be a wait list.
Also, new BM dress styles will still be coming out so keep that in mind too.
Favors i think should be the last to worry about out of these 4.

this...book a florist, he will tell you to come in later on closer to the wedding to finalize your color scheme.

i agree florist first. plus this gives you time to budget and set money away for how much you need to spend on them...

omg i'm doing this all wrong. i thought the bridesmaids dress colors would dictate completely what kind of flowers i'm getting. hmmm.

Re: Is there a specific order to go in?
I thought this as well. I'm getting married June 1st and I want lavender but booking your big vendors does make sense.
Your right, we might like purple but once our bm's try on dresses we might hate it.

it's not written anywhere that you need to follow a certain way. I'm doing the same thing & my idea is coming together beautifully!! I think no matter what order no one will change my mind for what I'm set on lol

I'm doing it this way... dresses take more time to come in, flower orders don't have to be finalized till right before so I can change my mind as much as I want. I'm doing 1 - dresses 2 - invitations 3 - flowers 4 - favors

Re: Is there a specific order to go in?
If there is an order, I was way off. I already knew colors I wanted and had my invitations and dresses picked before we even booked the hall. I had to change my invites (they we're discontinued) but everything worked around the original colors.

Re: Is there a specific order to go in?
I don't think there is a set order to any of it. I can see booking a florist to have them in place and then get back to them with color choices/arrangements,etc. after you pick your BM dresses. I think that's the way i'm going to go....

I agree... florist first. You want to be sure the florist you want is available on your date. While florists obviously can do more than one wedding a day, they don't want to overbook.
Bridesmaid dresses should be ordered 5-6 months before the wedding. If you wait too long, you may have to pay a rush fee.
Invitations should be viewed about 5 months before the wedding. This gives you enough time to select your invite, get a proof, and make necessary changes.
Favors all depend on what you want. I'm personally making a donation so that can wait. I would say favors can be done 1-2 months beforehand.

I did the above order too. Every florist I went to wanted a swatch of the BM's dresses.
