If something as simple as getting married in a hall vs. the church (ok, religion is a serious thing, in no way simple, but b/c he is not Catholic, you do have an option...)is making you question the last seven years, maybe you need to dig a little bit further. Is something else bothering you? There has to be a way that you can comprimise parts of your wedding, because this is just the beginning.
You will now be sharing your finances, housing and child rearing with this person, and you will not always agree.

whoa...wacky...with all due respect...HE SHOULD NOT CAVE!!!

would you cave if someone asked you to do something against your beliefs??

I am an atheist and I would never EVER get married in a church...there are certain phrases that would never come out of my mouth..that are required for a church ceremony...

Imagine that he asked you to prove your love to him by pledging allegence to a Hindu god? you wouldn't do it...

just b/c someone is atheist doesn't mean that they don't care about religion...if you were marrying someone who was Buddhist or Jewish or Shinto or a Satanist...who you ask them to convert? or say things that went against their religion...

if you prick us...do we not bleed?
