My BM & her bf were going to sing the song 'The Prayer' during our ceremony (they are both opera singers.)
I just found out that FH's close family friend who is getting married about 5 months before us is having that song for their first dance. I personally don't care, but do you think that's something that someone could potentially get mad about?
We've never met, but we've had very friendly communications via facebook...do you think I should ask her or does it not matter?

hmm i dont think its a big deal. your not using it as your wedding song its just during the ceremony. even if it was for the first dance though i mean they can't claim a song..

ITA! they don't own the song...
I really want that played at my ceremony (FH and I listen to it all the time) but I don't think st pats will let us.

I wouldn't worry - don't think it's a big deal, especially since their wedding is first, it's not like you are overstepping that way and they may actually be flattered and love to hear it again!

I think tha's too tangential to be worried about.
I fmy sister or best friend had already chosen it as a first dance song, I might shy away from it, but it's a really common song and you're using it in a different way AND you don't really know these people anyway, so I say carry on
