is this a scam? help!

Original post by weddingbunny

So, I got a phone call from a company called '21st Century Today's Bride' saying that I won some stuff... and that I just have to go tomorrow to this thing where they display some merchandise and I fill out a survey, and then they give me the stuff, no obligation.

Has anybody heard anything about this company? Are they legit? Should I go? It's some pretty decent prizes, including a 3 day hotel stay...

I've gotton this call before and we went. The deal was, sit through a 4 hour presentation on pots and pans and win a two day trip. It wasn't worth it, so we left. I would say it was a scam! Be careful.

I got a call today also!!!! The woman told me that we have to sit through like 90 minutes of some seminar and then we can purchase the pots, pans china and whatever else they have at a 40% discount.....then we get a 3 night 2 day vacation....hotel stays or something and a $500.00 gift certificate to some online store......Im not going because my dad always says nothing is free.

We are so lucky - I WON TOO! lol...She gave me the exact same pitch, I was going to go knowing it was a scam, but when a free ticket to Foreigner and Styx came up on Friday, I canceled. So the lady asked if she should save the gifts...she told me originally I could only come on Fri & Sat...when I told her I couldn't make either day, she of course made an exception! I said I wasn't sure when I could make it and she said she would 'pass it along to another couple' and HUNG UP ON ME!

I got a call yesterday from Prestige something or other about how I won a free vacation 4 days/3 nights. I asked him what the catch was and he said all you have to do is book an appointment with us.

I told him I'd check out their website and get back to him, but know better than to accept anything that sounds too good to be true.

I'd probably ignore it.
