I have a very good friend who lives in Arizona, and she will be coming up here for the wedding, she is a BM. She will probably be pregnant (which I think will look adorable)...but I told her the dress colors will be wine. I guess she has a wine colored dress that she wore to another wedding when she was preg. with her last child. She said 'Oh good, I can just wear that dress' I didn't say anything because we haven't started looking at BM dresses yet...but I really wanted all the girls dresses (7) to match, and so does my FH. Plus, there are probably gonna be two of the other girls that will be preg by then too. What should I do? I don't wanna hurt her feelings by telling her no, I was thinking of maybe buying her dress for her. Any thoughts?

Re: Is this Bridezilla-ish?
I would offer to by her dress... express that you wanted everyone to where the same dress and that you want her to be apart of her day and that since she was coming in from Az to be apart of this that this was the least you can do....
I think that she would be ok with that

absolutely not bridezilla-ish lol....its your wedding!....and i mean she should really know that to be a bridesmaid means the bride makes the decision as to what dress is going to be worn....she's not a guest she's ppart of the bridal party!...so i would say wait and have everyone see the dress....including her....and then see what her reaction is whether she is still pushing wearing the other dress and then if so....then maybe offer to pay for it bc u want everyone to be uniform

Uh, I don't think so. I agree with you. When she agreed to be a BM, she knew that would entail the purchase of a dress. None of that has changed. If you had a different color she wouldn't be insisting on using this maternity dress, if I may, so I don't think it's wrong to tell her you want her to wear what everyone else is wearing.

NOPE. Not bridezilla...look, most girls want their BP to match...it's traditional....it makes total sense that you wish to have everyone match. Offering to buy her dress is a great idea to soften the blow. First, I'd tell her which dress you've decided on [when you do] and based on her reaction, then tell her you will buy it. Be firm or she will wear her old dress...and her wine could be totally different from the wine you choose...it isn't about style at this point...it's about color. If she asks, you can tell her that...and hey, if it ends up a dead-on match...you can just toss it up to 'better safe than sorry.'

Don't feel bad and I wouldn't buy her dress either if you weren't going to do it for everyone else.
The BM dresses are YOUR choice and I think it was silly of her to suggest that she push her old dress on you just because she wore it when she was pregnant
Just tell her you want all the girls to match and will let her know when YOU pick the dress

not bridezilla-ish at all! Is this her first day on this planet? BM dresses usually match each other, if that's what the bride wants! Did her BM dresses match in her wedding? Plus, not all wines are the same, so her wine might not match the other girls'. And if she has a different dress, then everyone will think she's the MOH.

Very true...I didn't think of that, but people might think she is the MOH if her dress is differant. And yeah her BM dresses did match in hers. So, I guess that solves that, I'll just tell her nicely..

Okay... not bridezilla-ish... but I am going to be devil's advocate. Maybe her wedding wasn't like your's. Maybe her girls' dresses didn't match. What I might do is express to her how I would like all to match and that maybe she should send you a picture of her dress and then determine if it is not appropriate.
JMHO...

Re: Is this Bridezilla-ish?
ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! It's your day, did she fall on her head or something??? I would kindly and firmly explain to her that you want the BM dresses to match, if she brings up a money issue then offer to pay. If she's your friend she'll understand. We can't make everyone happy, we have ONE DAY AND ONE DAY ONLY, and that's OUR day everyone should understand that. Good luck and let us know how it goes.
