ok all my BMs are paying for thier own dress and i am not picking any dress over 160 but i am not giving any of them a chocie ... i feel its my day and they should wear what i want and waht i like!!! is that bridezilla of me??? ... i know i would wear whatever a bride told me to wear even if i didnt like it cause its her day not mine!!!

Tilde-i agree...As a bm i would pay whatever or wear whatever it is...you know this going into it...I was even surprised bc the dress i tried on i saw it was too much in my opinion so i said after to the BM that i cant pick this dress its too much money, especially after alterations...Well she said hey its part of being a BM and its not a problem and her and my MOH even thought it wasnt that bad and its the norm to pay.
Like i said, as a friend i will wear something the bride loves, thats not a problem...But as a bm we have to remember they are putting a decent amount into it, they are giving up alot of their time to do their bm duties, and on top of that i dont think they should be told what they have to do. Theyre already doing alot, and its better to just say you really love this one dress and then they'll just go along with it...Dont think its right to tell them they HAVE to wear something or else, its your way or the highway, that was my only thing but she said she wasn't going to say it like that...We picked these girls bc they are our close friends and we need to respect them and treat them like friends, not an 'IM THE BOSS' attitude.

I don't think it is at all! I mean that is basically what I am doing, but I will have the girls help me pick and see what they like best and what looks best on them. I do get the final decision though!

I do not think that is bridezilla of you. You are the bride and this is your and your FH's wedding. You two are in charge of making the decisions.

I agree...I know i wouldn't like to be forced to not only wear something I don't like but on top of it i have to pay for it...Now if they all like it then that is different but whenever the girls are told they have to do something they do not want to do then they shouldn't have to pay for it, if the bride wants it that bad then she can. But this is if they hate it...have you showed your girls the dress? maybe they'll like it.
I also know that if i was in a bp of a good friends wedding, i would want to look nice for her wedding and be comfortable
For me I'm picking out the color and as long as the girls can agree on an appropiate style dress then ok. I think it's important to let them be comfortable and enjoy the day. Frowning bridesmaids won't look good in pictures. The dress could look completely differenton your girls and totally be not what you thought it would be. So at least go shopping with everyone and be open to ideas.

No, for a wedding I was in last year the bride had us all wear our hair the exact same way and we had to pay for it ourselves...
it was an OOT wedding (upstate Saratoga)
we had to pay for: dress, shoes, gloves (we had to be identical!!!! we were like Stepford Wives) hair hotel room bach party shower gift wedding gift
And guess what - GASP - not a single person complained!!!! We were in her BP b/c we loved her!! And we wanted to make HER day magical!
Pick out the dress! It's completely fine!!!
