My BM dresses JUST came in (which I am annoyed at already). The dresses are tea length and I was told that all the dresses should be hemmed the same height from the ground. To determine this height my tallest and shortest BM need to be fitted. I couldn't get an appointment for them until Aug 6th. Normally that wouldn't be a problem, however, I have 4 out of town BMs. So when the other two BMs go for their fittings, I have to pick up the 4 OOT BMs dresses, get a swatch, take all their shoes to be dyed and then send out the shoes and dresses of the OOT BMs. Our wedding is Sept 6, and I just don't feel like there will be enough time for the OOT BMs to get their dresses fitted. If the shoes aren't finished being dyed until the 14th (thats a week for dying) the OOT girls won't get their dresses probably until at least Aug 19th (if I am lucky). Do you think Aug 19-Sept 5 (17 days) is enough time for them to get their dresses fitted?
extra info: the dresses have a bubble hem, so even that isn't an easy alteration.

It definitely can be done! Just make the appointments with the salon so you definitely have them ASAP! I have seen girls get fittins done in 1 week! Breath..it will be ok!

The OOT girls aren't necessarily taking their dresses to bridal salons to be fitted. I think some of them are going to their local tailors. I don't worry that the bridal salon won't be able to do the in state girls fittings in time, I just worry about the OOT girls.

OK, knowing someone else has done it in less time, makes me feel a bit better.

I have been in weddings and had to wear a tea length dress and we didn't have our hems done to match - they just fell where they fell and it looked fine and no one noticed or cared.

yea i personally thinks this looks better especially if you have a large range in height. this way each girl looks like the dress was made for their own proportions, not someone elses.
