Is this ghetto???

Is this ghetto???

I really want a photo both but I don't think we can affford it. We were thinking of buying a polaroid camera and making a name board that once people take a picture they can replace their name with their picture. Do you think this will be too hard? Do you think my guests will find it weird??

TIA

I wanted to make a scrapbook of the pictures. I don't really like the cameras on the table because people just randomly shoot but I figured if I did this people could take a picture and write a little caption.

some sites sell a guestbook specifically designed for polaroid pics.. your guests can take their pic, put in the book & write you a message on their page.. it would be easier for you to store & look at later on.

I had wanted to do this, but to have each page be a table picture and their hand written notes... but never got to it

i've seen this in a bridal magazine before-i actually think it's a really cute idea!! you would just have to make sure you explain what the guests are supposed to do

eta: fh is sitting next to me and claims they no longer make poloroid cameras..hes annoying and probably wrong

I think he's right. Polaroid stopped making the cameras in the Summer I believe, or I think they stopped selling the film. You can get either on ebay.

I think it's very hard to get a Polaroid camera nowadays and the film is WAY expensive and hard to find. Maybe you can pay a local high school kid to stand there with a digital camera and take silly pictures of people and print them out on one of those portable kodak printers. That would be cheaper than a photo booth and then yo'ud have the printer to keep for other events.

I don't know if you have looked into this, but partybooths.com has a party booth that you can rent for under $900... it comes with a CD of all pictures taken plus other extras too. I don't know if this fits in with your budget, but just wanted to let you know

She shows pictures too... Google for the camera. The other day I saw someone selling a camera with film

my friend did that, she had her bridal attendant (or wedding planner, i don't remember) go around the the tables and take pictures and she put them into a book then asked guests to write something next to their picture. and she took another picture and put them in custom made paper frames (almost like inserts) for the guests to take home, we didn't get ours... but at least we made it into the book.
if you can't find a book go to target and get a scrap book and glue them in, make a DIY scrap book... and if you don't have a WP or BA ask a BM or family member to do it, or have a few share the job... i think that's what we're going to do.
