Polaroid doesn't make cameras and film anymore, BUT they do make Polaroid PoGo now. It's a little contraption (about the size of a deck of cards) that you plug any digital camera into and it prints out on special paper with optional peel off sticky back.

some sites sell a guestbook specifically designed for polaroid pics.. your guests can take their pic, put in the book & write you a message on their page.. it would be easier for you to store & look at later on.
I had wanted to do this, but to have each page be a table picture and their hand written notes... but never got to it
This is what I think I am planning on doing...

FYI-- Polaroid film costs a fortune cuz it's been discontinued. Good luck even find some, I've been trying to get some on EBAY.... It's like $15 buck for 10 pics minimum.
But No if you hired someone or had a little cousin take the pics... it could be cute!

Re: Is this ghetto???
There's actual an article on this in the new Modern Bride-it's SLIGHTLY different, but same idea, and it's applicable- it says:
'In photos: DIY photo booths! All you need is a backdrop, a few chairs, and a stationary camera with an auto button to have a fun photo booth guests can operate themselves. You can buy a simple remote for most digital cameras in the $20 range, then set up the camera about five feet from the backdrop and let guests click away as they're posing. Write up brief instructions on how to work the camera and remote, then have someone take a few tests shots before the reception starts to make sure it works.'

My cousin had this as her wedding but, did it as the guest book. You signed it, wrote alittle something and added your pic.

Re: Is this ghetto???
Actually what about doing something like if or when you send out photo invites sending a photo of the people in the thank you card also? So it isn't as instant as a polaroid but it's a lot cheaper and a really unexpected surprise when they open it up. Just food for thought.
Also you could always buy a Kodak Easy Share camera for like hmm I think they start around $120 and a dock for it and have someone print the photos on the spot if you really wanted photos on the spot, that's like a photo booth, but without the booth, but it's a little pricey that way and a little more work.

How about a polaroid camera with the sticky photos? It's instant and similiar to a photo booth. It's a lot less cheesy looking than the regular flash cameras. Add a few polaroid cameras with the sign Photo Booth Venue where you have your guest signing table. If you have the extra cash, get a couple of scrapbooks/embellishments from dollar stores or arts and crafts (Michael's, Pearl Paint, Target, etc.) so your guests can design their own scrapbooks with the photos.
