I have a wedding to go to in july, and I am sooo in love with this dress!! I was wondering if the color is ok, is this too close to wearing white? It says that the color is oatmeal. I am really laid back about this sort of thing so I was just curious to get some opinions. I'm wondering if it is someting that I'm not sure about if I should just continue looking? Please Help!
I would be somewhat upset if someone showed up to my wedding in that...my dress is more towards that color so it would definitely be annoying to me.
Its a great dress for your RD though!

hmmm it's iffy. I didnt care as much i mean i convinced my own MIL to wear champagne but also depends how well you know this person. I personally wouldn't chance it bc while you might not care about these things, a lot of brides do ya know. And although I didn't care as much either, to an extent though bc some situations i would've been upset, you can't blame a bride who feels this way and don't want to do anything to upset her.
It's a gorgeous dress though, do they have it in other colors

good idea, why don't you buy this dress but wear it to your RD or shower or for another type of event.

Re: Is this ok to wear to a wedding?
Personally what I think you should do is ask her. I think you should ask from an angle that doesnt make her feel strange or awkard. Assure her that it's COMPLETELY ok if she does mind; and that you aren't married to it and more than anything you don't want to offend her by just showing up wearing such a light color. To be honest... if I was the bride that's what I would like for someone to do. Consideration goes a long way. So that's what I would do.
Edit to add that: I feel that on the bride's day she most likely won't notice it but that doesn't mean other people won't notice. I find the general population tends to pick up on it and they talk about it. So i would feel uncomfortable and thinking if everyone just found me rude. That's just me though.. I can be a freak sometimes.

I think its really odd IMO to call someone and ASK THEM if you can wear a close to white dress to their wedding. Im not sure how that person might feel and IMO your putting her in an awkward position.
I think you should just NOT wear it and look for something else. That is a great dress for a party like your RD or someone's 30th or something like that. But a wedding I would say no

I would use it more as a RD dress. It really is close to white and I know on my wedding day I want to be the only one wearing white! It is a very beautiful dress!

I wouldnt care if you showed up to my wedding in that dress, but then again I am not like that...It really depends on the bride and how well you know her...I love the dress btw!

I agree. My dress is the same color and unless it was my sister or someone really close to me I'd be a little unhappy.

Beautiful dress. I wouldn't care- it's not white and it's not long....it's beautiful but honestly, everyone will KNOW you're not the Bride.
However, some girls are hypersensitive...she may be and it would probably be best to avoid any drama.

If you are having doubts about the dress - so much so that you need to ask the forum - that might be a sign that you shouldn't wear the dress.

IMHO, Its too close to Ivory (which is my color) so I think you should get a different color or get the dress in this color and wear if for your shower or RD!

Gorgeous Dress-
My opinion is, if you have to even question it....don't wear it. Because if you question it so will other people.
