Re: Is this quote way too much?
When considered-I paid about 7k for photo and video and there are things in that package that we not in mine....I dont really think its crazy-but there are a lot of unneccesary things in it. If you can wing that kind of money then go for it.

Do you want every thing in that package? If not, then try to negotiate a better deal without it.
Also, a lot of studios try to tell you that booking the videography with the photogrpahy will give you a better deal, but you may find a cheaper price for video alone from another place...shop around for video if you want to bring the price tag down a bit.

Seems high but there is a lot in there. Maybe if you don't want everything in the package you can try to get her down a little bit.

Re: Is this quote way too much?
honestly that is a TON of stuff... i would imagine the best price for that quality to be around $8k. maybe you can split the difference and negotiate to 10k? While it seems like a ton to me personally, its the only thing that you will retain after the wedding (well except for your FH!)

Re: Is this quote way too much?
it actually depends on if you can afford it without having to take loans out :) i think you're getting a LOT of stuff, especially since you're getting an e-pic album and 1000 prints of your proofs (do you REALLY need that?)
since you love her and seem to have you heart set on it, do it if you can comfortably afford it. also, take the other girls' advice and email a few photographers and give them this exact package and see what they're charging.

Re: Is this quote way too much?
For me, it is WAYYYY too much, thats what my RH package is costing... But if you can do it... And you really love it, go for it! I would shop around a little with other photogs that you like as well and see what their price for it all would be... And then maybe try to neg. a little...It cant hurt to try. I mean, that is a TON of stuff and sounds like an amazing package... The price just wouldnt do it for me... But go for it if you love it and can! GL

Re: Is this quote way too much?
wow - that seems very high. We have about the same package (except we 1500 proofs, no video and high resolution of images after 6 month) but paid less than that!!
Like other bride suggest, negotiate, negotiate, negotiate!!!

Re: Is this quote way too much?
If you love the photographer then you should go for it. I think whats driving up the price are the extras like a coffee table book of your e-pics. To me that seems unnecessary. Its probably raising the cost by $1000. also the 20X30 canvas portrait seems a bit large. Thats probably raising the price by $ 3-400. Do you really want a portrait that large? You could also make your own slideshow of your favorite pics. So I would drop that also. Also instead of having 1000 proofs printed in an album you could cut that out and just view them on your computer. That will probably save you around $4-500. If you really want some printed proofs you could print them yourself or cut the number down to 500. It unlikely that you'll have 1000 really amazing shots that will go in that album. All of those things should cut the price by about $3-4k. Also your photographer is proabably using an outside company to make the albums so the loss to her isn't that great if you cut certain things out.
