Please ladies...need some honesty. Is this right...??
Are firends are getting married shortly after us and we just recieved an invite to her bridal shower. We checked out her registry, and there isn't ONE thing that is UNDER $100!! I mean, shouldn't there be more then just a $200 cake server, and $110 spoon!??!? Or, am I just being cheap? LOL
That's nuts. Get her a gift card for the amount you want to spend.

i completely agree! I would buy her something else, something personal! like a silver picture album with their names and wedding date on it! its much less but means much more!

OMG no you are not being cheap!!!! When doing a registry, you should pick out many different things in several price ranges. You shouldnt just have stuff $100 and up. Not everyone can afford a $100 spoon. I think its kinda rude and I would get her something else.

That is rude she doesn't have cheaper things as well. I'd either get her a gift card, get a gift with someone, or do something else like a wine or candle basket.

I agree that isnt being cheap. That isnt fair to any one. If there isnt anything on their regirstry that you can afford, get something else that you know they need that you can

That's ridiculous! Just get her a gift card or go halfsies with someone else. It's one thing to spend a lot on the wedding gift (preferably in the ways of CASH!) but for the bridal shower?!? She's got balls!

i would either split a gift with someone else orrrr just give her a gift card to fortunoff for however much money you want to give her and let her put the gift card towards something that she wants!

Your not being cheap..
When I registered at BBB the lady was telling us how there should be a variety of prices which makes sense! We have expensive things but then also cheaper things for people that cant spend hundreds of dollars...
Is there something cute you can think of getting her that you know she would like but not on registry?

Wow! That's insane! No, you are not being cheap.
I hope this girl gets the clue when everyone buys her stuff that was not on her registry or gets her alot of gift cards.
One of my friends registered for insanely expensive stuff with only a few reasonably priced things. By the time I got to the registry, all the reasonably priced things were gone of course. I gave her a gift card and she was p!ssed. She was also p!ssed when someone bought her towels that were not on her registry bc they were not the ones she wanted...unfortunately no one could afford to get her the insanely expensive towels she wanted.

Re: Is This Right...?
It's ridiculous, especially in these 'tough times' economically speaking. First of all, you're planning a wedding, too--you shouldn't be expected to purchase a $150 spoon. Whenever I go to a shower, my gift is generally under $50 unless it's a really, REALLY good friend. I'm on my BBB registry as we speak making sure that the things that FH and I put on there make sense in terms of what we need and cost. So inconsiderate of her!!!!!

Re: Is This Right...?
Thanks girls for all your input. Yeah, she has bathroom stuff on there too...like a $40 towel..and she wants 10 of them. Yeah Ok. Then on the website she has, she said, she only wants the items from her registry, not 'mock-ups' from somewhere else. So...oh well. I'll get a few items... won't be as much as I usually get everyone else, yet ti'll still be the same amount. LOL.

Re: Is This Right...?
it depends because Macys prices fluctuate sooooo much. Somthing we registered can range from 99-225 on any given day - it is ridiculous! All else fails you can get a gift card for whatyou can afford or contact a girl who can go in on a gift with you. I think it is petty that you complain. I think everyone expcts that people will give what they give. If they choose to register for expensive items that is because that is what they want...

That's actually rude! Aren't you supposed to do a range of things on the registry? I mean some less expensive items and some more expensive items. You know you don't have to give a gift OR and item from the registry.. you can buy anything you want... in this case I would go out of my way to just buy a gift of my choice... since I didn't like the choices they gave me.

Wow! That isn't right. Go in on a gift with someone else. She should have thought about that because you really should have things on there at all different price points.

Re: Is This Right...?
theres no law that you have to buy off of someones registry! buy her something that you can afford that you know she will be able to use (ie: towels in neutral colors!)

I think people can register for whatever they want at whatever price point they want. They just shouldn't expect people to get all of the things on their registry or be disappointed if they don't get what they want. But the point of a registry is to register for the things u like.
I agree 100% I know for my shower I prob lean towards the expensive gifts b.c I know that it is my family that will get me that stuff. If i were you i would get her a gift card? That way she opens it and says your name without the saying how much it is. Also the plus with a gift card is no tax!
