FH & I are comming via Harley Davidson. FH riding me in the side car in my gown! Many of our guests are also comming via Harley also. It's a party............party on! I think it would be cool to have all those boats. At our wedding,My Uncle's driveway will look like a Harley convention. He can't wait. Why not a Marina for you? Perfect for a house on the water.
I would be a little upset also because they should have had the courtesy to ask you first if there is room at your dock to do that. Since you are using your boardwalk for your party that is a great way to let them know they won't be able to come in their boats...you can always soften the message by telling them that they are welcome to come by for a visit on their boats, just not this one time...

Re: Is this rude? Coming to my party by boat???
Wow, I totally feel your pain.
We had a party at our old house in the city and someone wanted to come by helicopter. If it was our current place, it would have been fine b/c we have 2 heliports now. However, our old place only had one and our helicopter was already parked there. WTH do people think our house is, a freakin airport?!?
It totally sounds like they are trying to steal your thunder! It's your party! Dont let them!!

Don't stress over it. They probably just like to use their boat, ESPECIALLY since they can't jump on it and ride around anytime how it sounds like you can. The party is about you - who cares about a boat.

I don't know a whole lot about what goes into docking a boat, but this is what I say:
If they can easily just pull up and dock the boat, then you should probably let it go (and don't let the 'look at my boat' thing get to you).
If docking a boat requires any additional efforts by you and/or your fiance (ie securing ropes, etc), then I think that you have every right to have your FH call his friends and explain that in the midst of entertaining for the party, you will not be able to muster the manpower needed to dock the boat. They should not put any additional burden on you in terms of additional responsibilities.
Hope this helps, sorry I don't know more about boat docking!
