Re: Is this tacky?
I wouldn't think twice if I received a thank you with a label. Invitation, maybe, thank you- no

Re: Is this tacky?
I am not a fan of using labels. I think printing them directly on your envelopes is a much nicer look. Or hand-writing, of course.

Re: Is this tacky?
Here is tacky: For wedding invites i think labels looks funny. I received a wedding invite with a clear label and it looked weird. And the bride came right out and told me she just didnt feel like writing out the invites. So wedding invites no labels. For thank you's I dont see where the problem is. Inside the thank you, you may want to write a personal message to each person. For example, thanks aunt jane for the monetary gift. It was very thoughtful of you. We are going to use it to decorate our new home. I am so glad you were able to attend, I hope you had a wondeful time. love husband and wife. something like that. I think a personal message inside means more then whats on the outside.
A note: here is super tacky. I went to a wedding last year (August 2001) and I have not received a thank you card from the bride.

Re: Is this tacky?
Chippatrid - no thank you note? Now that is tacky!
I also did not receive a thank you from a shower from last January and the wedding thank you had the printed 'Thank you for your thoughtfulness. . .' and all the bride and groom added was 'Love, Bob and Sue', no other written message!

Re: Is this tacky?
Helen: thank you for your thoughtfulness....thats it..I always make sure no matter what kind of gift I get now to send a thank you and include what the gift was and what I will use it for. It just seems more personal and shows I really took the time to thank them for there lovely gift.
Some people just figure a simple thank you in a card is good enough

Re: Is this tacky?
IMO, using labels is fine (the clear ones). If somebody gets one and thinks it's tacky, what the f? Come on, if somebody is going to be that critical, that's their problem. But that's just me, I'm so not about details.

Re: Is this tacky?
Add me to the club of people who think labels on wedding invites are tacky. I got one like that last year, and I mean, it didnt ruin my day, but I definitely wouldn't do it on my invites. As for thank yous, no, I don't think it's tacky at all. A few years ago, I went to a shower, and they handed out envelopes to fill out. It turns out, she used them for her thank yous! Everyone had to address their own thank you envelope. I thought that was pretty tacky, I mean, I didn't ask her to fill out her own card. Whatever...to each his own I suppose.

Re: Is this tacky?
having to fill out your own thank you envelope i think that is definatly tacky and very rude. its like she is just too lazy to take the time to fill out an envelope.

Re: Is this tacky?
I have to agree - I would rather use labels than have people write out their own envelopes. However, I'm also not a huge fan of labels. IMO - if you're going to feed the labels through your printer, might as well feed the envelopes instead

Re: Is this tacky?
I don't think there is ANY question that there are more tacky things such as NO thank you card or a pre-printed, no personal message thank you card. IMO there is no need to use a label since you can hand write or print the envelopes. I don't think it is tacky as much as just not as nice. And if you order thank you cards from a place like www.cardstore.com they print the envelopes for you. That is even easier- IMO.

Re: Is this tacky?
My friend who got married last year in August, put labels on her wedding invites. I knew she was putting labels on her invites so when the invitation came I just looked at it and thought it looked so funny. She even told me she just wasnt paying for a calligrapher (sp??) and she wasnt hand writing the addresses.Mind you this is also the same bride who NEVER sent out thank you cards after the wedding was over. She said she just didnt have the time and that now its over a year so its just not worth sending them out.
talk about being tacky!!!!
I just dont understand how someone could not send out a thank you..
