Is your invite time and actual start time different?
Re: Is your invite time and actual start time different?
I was going to do this and decided not to

I put a half hour earlier because I really don't trust that everyone will be on time. And also because my hall will do a pre-cocktail before the ceremony begins.
Re: Is your invite time and actual start time different?
Mine is the actual start time.

We put the actual time down. It worked out just fine.
Re: Is your invite time and actual start time different?
the time on our invite was 30 mins before the actual start time

I was told by the hall to say half hour prior to start time. So that is what i am doing.. Please arrive for champagne and strawberries at 4:00pm for a prompt start to our 4:30 ceremony. Something like that. Or I just may say please arrive at 4pm
Re: Is your invite time and actual start time different?
Our hall does a champagne reception prior to the ceremony so our invites say a half hour early. If they didn't do anything then I probably would have put the actual time. I would hate to have everyone standing around with nothing to do.
Re: Is your invite time and actual start time different?
My BM told me to put it down 1/2 hour early on the invite. and that is what I did. I guess it depends on your friends and family and their ability to be on time. I am always late and so are my friends therefore the half hour on the invite. My hall also said that if anyone came early they would gather them somewhere else--- i gues a pre-party?

Despite any who may be late, people WILL arrive on time. If you put the time as 30 minutes earlier than the start time, I'd make sure there is something for them (champagne welcome or cocktails or something). Otherwise, people will get annoyed at what they see as a late start. (And I'd not do this if it's in a church!)
Re: Is your invite time and actual start time different?
We are putting 30 mins. earlier..the temple offers a reception before the ceremony aand it gives a nice cushion...
Re: Is your invite time and actual start time different?
i'm using the actual start time on the invite.
