Is your mother getting on your nerves?

Sometimes I feel like my mother is either not happy for me getting married or is just upset im leaving..

but the wedding is 1 year and 7 months away...

I said that to my mom the other day its like aggravation with you sometimes. I know she is happy but she has a odd way of showing it sometimes.

I think my mom is a little insane - she started to get on my case about limos the other day. Saying how come we aren't planning on getting a car for her and my dad and FFIL/FMIL - UMMM b/c you told me not too like a month ago?!?!?!

We had a whole convo about it and she said not to do it - and now she is saying we should??? Seriously - what is up w/ that?!?!?!

She pulled the same thing w/ vallet parking - she made a big stink that we need it and then when i said that she was like 'i never said anything about it'

My mom wanted FH and I to get married ASAP since she didn't want us living together for so long but she didn't get her way. Now whenever I mention planning she always says 'Well, you have SO much time.'

So passive aggressive!!

I'm sure in a sense my mom feels like 'My baby's officially leaving' but I moved out over a year ago with FH so she's gotten use to the fact that I'm in the house with her.

I feel she is actually very excited about the wedding and she's having fun planning it with me - even though I call her daily with questions about stuff and to show her my ideas (I might actually be getting on her nerves! LOL)

i've been keepin gmy mom in the loop about everything and i told her how i don't know what shoes i should get and she sent me a link full of shoes to look at! i Love her.

My Mom is a full on nightmare about anything wedding related. We mentioned it once and she was rude and I cried.

Now we wont even tell her anything. She'll have to deal. My Dad told us to have the wedding bc Anthony deserves one and my Mom will be happy for us.

She loves him but doesn't want me to spend money on a wedding or something. Whatever..

My mom is pretty easy going so far- she's done this twice already with my brother and sister. FMIL though- WOW! She wants us to have a city hall wedding and doesn't want my friends in the BP since it such a blasphemous occasion (FH is jewish and I'm not). Then when we go to vendors she flat out tells them I come from a poor family and that I can't afford the price- but if her son was marrying someone else....

Seriously have to be medicated around that woman

hey you can gripe to me all you want! I'm so in the same boat and have tons of Mom stories. I love her and I know she loves me although she has never told me. She's not affectionate. Wont kiss me hello or goodbye. Shes weird.

I'm sorry you are having issues with your mom. Hopefully things will improve soon.

My mom too has been pretty wishy washy about the whole thing. I haven't lived at home since I was 19 (32 now), so I know it's not that. It's like one moment she is all excited about it and the next she couldn't care less. She almost gets annoyed whenever I mention anything about it. She almost 'whatever's' me. It's pretty hurtful. I'm actually starting to think that I probably won't have a shower because I can't see my mom taking any initiative to organize one. Ugh.

Same here!

Keep in mind u have been living wiht her for So many years!!!!! Of course she will feel sad/mad/happy....

My mom is happy I found My one and Only... but she is sad i will be leaving the house...
And I do feel Sad too...
We have been living together for 22years... we have been close and now i am moving out?!!
Of course it is a big change for them!!

One of my coworkers was sharing hr pain with me regarding her son/daughters yesterday... They all got married now, so she is by herself... She cries bc she says she feels as 'She close a BIG chapter of her book' a Big chapter that she spent over 35 yrs with her kids and now thye are not home......

Yes I totally get it .. its just alot to take in right now.. my father and i are really close and he really hate talking about the wedding..

time heals all things...so at least my parents have 2010 and more than half of 2011 to adjust ..

Yes true... Time heals... BUT U cant expect them to get used to the idea withtin ONE year expecially if they have spent wiht u more than 20yrs!
