Re: Island weddings??
Marecella, I went to a wedding in Bermuda in June. It was wonderful! My friends were married in a church on the island and had their reception at one of the local hotels, outside near the water. They arranged a group deal for a cruise. Some of the guests flew in and stayed at the hotel rather than cruising. My fiance and I went on the cruise. It was great. We set sail on Sat, the wedding was Mon and then we had the rest of the week to explore the island and hang around on the deck of the ship. That is the only experience I have had with a destination wedding. Well worth it if you ask me!

Re: Island weddings??
Thanks for all your input.. The only thing that has us ruling against the whole island wedding thing, is the fact that we both have such big families and it would be a pain in the arse to put together, you know?? I was looking into the cruise wedding thingie, for let's say, 3 nights, so that people could go for theweekend.. but most of them have their ports outside NY and in FL..*sigh*
we'll see what happens.. lol

Re: Island weddings??
Marcella, I live in MD, but the cruise left from NY. It was Celebrity Cruises. We actually took a bus from Baltimore to NYC. Just wanted to let you know you can leave from NY!
