Isn't $135-$150 asking alot for guest to pay for a hotel?

The few hotels that are near my RH are expensive for guests and they want me to block 10-15 rooms in order to get free shuttle service. All my friends had rooms for like $100, what's the deal?

Mine are $135 per night. When my sister got married we paid $199 a night. And we have a free shuttle and breakfast with ours too

mine's $169, but its a suite hotel that holds 4 so a lot of people are splitting it, plus they get breakfast.

As a fellow WM bride I found the same thing. I ended up blocking rooms at the Fairfield in Syosset b/c it was much cheaper. A little bit further away, but not much.

ours were about $135- it was the lowest in the area but we did a bruncch the next day. FYI double check ALL the details for the shuttles. we were told about getting free shuttles for 15 rooms booked. BUT it was only for one way and for 14 people!! not all the people in those 15 rooms!!! we ended up having to book shuttle buses through another company...

We are having a continental breakfast for the guests before the ceremony so that's not an issue, but we need to be at WM at 9:00am!!!! I just don't want to book a hotel too far away that means I would have to be ready even earlier!!!!

Ours is $169 they stumble to their rooms and we are having a brunch the next morning. Its a little pricey but I think its worth it.

I thought $130 for our hotels was a steal.

mine is $135, its at the four points sheraton in plainview. i could have gotten a cheaper rate at the best western in woodbury for $119 i think... but they need a guarantee of a # of rooms to block and unfortunately i can't guarantee anything

thats where I think I am going to block off rooms, I am also thinking of getting ready there. so they dont ask you to guarantee at Sheraton?

Well mine are $190 a night - that's because it's Riverhead in August. It was the cheapest we could find in that area. We're serving brunch the next day. And we already have 30 rooms booked without even sending out invites yet - so I guess people think it's worth it!

I am a WM Bride as well. we just booked a BRAND NEW Hyatt in Garden City for $129/night. They don't have a shuttle yet (but might as my date approaches). The hotel is brand new and beautiful for the price (and 3 miles away!)

I'm also blocked at $135 per night at the Four Points. You can block up to 15 rooms without guaranteeing.

Remember, time of year affects pricing - spring/summer are more expensive.

Personally I think it's a good deal..

but you need to keep in mind that hotels in other states are a lot cheaper- depending on where your guests are coming from - anything over $100 and there jaws are going to hit the floor in shock.

we are using the Hilton on rt 110.... its $119 per room plus tax...

we also booked a 11 passenger shuttle for another $400-ish... but its ours on call all night...

and we are providing a breakfast the next day at i think around $12 per person...
