I was just looking through my guest list and came to FH's friends. Well, they got married last September. I just realized we NEVER got a thank you from their wedding. They will be married a year September 6th. How rude is that? I know they were having problems with their photographer and still haven't gotten their pictures, but wouldn't you have went out and bought your own thank you cards w/out pic? I know I would have gone out right away and bought my own to send out and then I would eventually just send the pictures. But they didn't send anything. I just think that is soooo wrong. What do you think?

I think so. I went to a wedding last Oct. and as of now I still have not gotten a thank you card either.

Re: Isn't this really tacky...
We still haven't gotten one from my cousin's wedding last August. My mom's upset about it. They've had problems w/the photographer too.
I wouldn't worry about it though-really. Some people are just not as on top of things as all of us LIWeddings girls It's nothing to get bothered by IMO.

Yep...it's rude.
Some people are really rude and it's not right...last year I couldn't attend a bridal shower for my FH's friends fiancee, but I bought and sent a gift for her...I NEVER RECEIVED A THANK YOU CARD...NOTHING...I think it's a disgrace.

Wow, 6 1/2 years. Hmm, I don't think its coming Jamie. I can't believe people. I am so crazy about these things, I actually have the labels made for the thank you cards already and I didn't even send out the invites yet.

That is a peeve of mine - - people who do not send out Thank Yous are unappreciative of other people's time and generousity. It's beyond tacky, it's simply rude.

Certainly poor manners, but I wouldn't let it bother me. I was happy to go, gladly gave a gift, don't need some thank you I'm going probably throw out anyway. JMO

Re: Isn't this really tacky...
Maribelle, we live together, so I would have seen it. But I know they did not send them. I actually commented to FH about it and he agreed with me that it was rude. But in no way am I upset. It was just something that I thought of while seeing their names on my list. If I eventually get one, I'll probably throw it out anyway, but its just the principle of things. They could have sent an e-mail thank you. We were very generous to them and a thank you would have been nice.

I have friends who were married a year in March and no thank you for anyone. Very rude!

Re: Isn't this really tacky...
Did they cash your check? I was the only person in my immediate family to not receive a thank you from my cousin who got married March 2002 (my mom & my sister got them) so my sister told me to go back & look thru my cancelled checks but sure enough they did cash it! They had a baby this year & I received a thank you for the shower gift but I'm still annoyed about the wedding gift - that was clearly a bigger gift!
Also, on another note, I am fanatical about addressing people for my own wedding. If I knew someone was living with their boyfriend/girlfriend or was with someone for years, I made some calls & found out the person's name & addressed it to both of them. I just got an invitation to a christening addressed to Myself and 'Fiancee' - how rude is that??

Our friend got married 2 years ago and I am still waiting for the thank you card from their wedding and their baby shower. The baby is going to be one in December!
I am sorry they were so rude! Didn't their mom's teach them manners? My mother would kill me if I didn't send a thank you card!

Re: Isn't this really tacky...
i agree that it is rude, but i can understand them waiting for the picture from the photographer. i think i would do the same thing since i would want my thank yous to be perfect and the way they should be.

Re: Isn't this really tacky...
I understand E-party's are different from weddings, but my FH and I had our thank you's for the e-party out in 6 days from the party. We had about 60 TY's to write also. Extremely rude.

Re: Isn't this really tacky...
Keep in mind the postal service these days too and I would give them the benefit of the doubt. My Bm never received her thank you from my e-party and she KNOWS I mailed hers because she helped me check that I had all of them and was with me when I mailed them out. It was also never returned to me - so you just never know.
