My FH's aunt offered to cook food for our RD since we were forced to have it our house (long story). He agreed to it, but then told his mom to make sure she was told just because she was cooking does not mean she can attend because it was for the Bridal Party only. I told him I thought that was REALLY rude of him to say that ...ESPECIALLY because she:
1) will be cooking for OUR guests 2) is family
Ok she's not in the Bridal party but neither are the significant others who are attending, nor my uncle or cousin who will be in our apartment that night because they are staying w/us. Should I tell them to leave while this is going on? He got upset ..but I mean seriously how RUDE was that?
**UPDATE*** - just for the record..FH is NORMALLY the sweetest person on earth. HOWEVER..I think he became 'GROOMZILLA' since we have had ALOT and I mean ALOT of headaches w/this wedding. He was good up until a few days ago...one slip up is allowed..but only ONE!

no offense to your FH, but that is rude. You shouldn't tell someone they aren't invited...if they are making all the food as well...He shouldn't have said that.

that is VERY RUDE!! if i was his aunt i would feel very hurt. you cant expect her to cook and not attend the rd thats just not right

Very rude. I would call her myself and invite her. What's the big deal anyway? And I certainly would not ask my uncle/cousin to leave. Men!!!

Yikes.....That is a bit rude of him.....I would call your FH Aunt and make sure ...she knows that she is invited. and your FH must not have been thinking clearly!

I would ask your FH to personally apologize to her, in person!
That's totally unacceptable of him and I would be so embarassed considering your aunt is being so very gracious and generous with her time!

I think that is very rude to ask her to leave the house after she is done cooking. I think that is very nice that she is even doing that (cooking a meal for that many people), so I would just include 1 more person. JMO

It gets even BETTER! I just found out his MOM offered his aunts services w/out even asking her!!! Then goes ahead and tells her that we said OK without asking us. So yeah ...this is DEFENITELY rude!
