It might just be me but I have to ask

Original post by JanuaryBride06

Does your DH/FH do the SAME things that you do around the house but messier?

I'm going to ban everything bagels from my apartment - DH cannot cut one without getting poppy seeds everywhere. It's like he threw it around the kitchen before he cut it. I mean, I don't make that kind of mess when handling a freaking everything bagel.

Does yours do something like this too?

Do you ever wonder how they got along in life before us?

I know how...it's demonstrated by the weekly sappy phone conversations and his crying fit when we left for GA...one word: MOM!!

Thanks MIL, you raised a grown child!!

In case it wasn't clear, I married a Mamma's Boy!!

I think we need another set of 'love letters' to our DH's!! Maybe then we'll get annyoing groom to visit again!!

Be careful what you wish for; the darling will return to tell us it's allllll our fault!!

so true. I do his laundry every Sunday, and one week I missed it, so he started packing it up on Monday to bring to his mom. OMG MAN - do it yourself. Of course I ended up doing it - I'm such a sucker for FH In college he paid his roommate to do it for him

Can you imagine doing that yourself? My mom would kick my azz!

Despite my earlier post on this thread, I am apparently the Gatekeeper to the Washing Machine!

And that's the thing - I know he can do laundry - I've seen him do laundry!!! But that was BEFORE we were married! He even turned one of our white hotel-style towels blue last weekend while I was away. He's lost his laundry-doing mechanism!!!!

It is my fault...I should have gone running for the hills when way back when he said 'my mom washes and buys my undies'...

Seriously! My mom would think I was loony. Meanwhile, his mom would LOVE to do his laundry -

To add to the laundry vent. He says I shrink his stuff.

well then love-do it yourself!

His pet peeve was that I let the hamper overflow into the laundry basket that has clean clothes in it. I should really pay more attention to that.

I thought about that a minute an told him that maybe he could throw in a load or fold a laundry..maybe that would erradicate that problem?

I get that too: 'Michelle, the laundry looks full'

He once said to me: 'Michelle, the garbage is full' This was about 3 weeks after the wedding. I looked at him and said 'okay, so do something about it'

I tell him all the time that I know the real reason he married me was so he didn't have to do laundry anymore.

Mine's like a little kid or a puppy - whenever he does something, he wants praise. Do I do that after I cook dinner or clean the bathroom? Just freaking do it; you don't need a treat for it.

You knwo, now that I think about it, he gets angry at me for continuing to use the garbage pail when it's full (I can find all sorts of creative ways to cram stuff in! ) instead of just emptying it...yet, he ALWAYS just piles clothes on top of the hamper instead of throwing a load in the machine...it's not like he even needs to turn it on! Just sort some laundry and put it in the machine for godsakes, I'll turn it on!

HEEEEEEEEYYYY, I'm gonna give him a piece of my mind tonight!!!

Aren't they all like that? Mine is the exact same way. It's like the Chris Rock joke 'what do you want, a cookie? you're supposed to take out the garbage!!'

I do that too! He says I would pile it up to the ceiling if I could - rather than take it out (but you are right - he does the same thing with his laundry! ).

I'm going to find that clip and next time he looks for a reward, I'm playing it for him.

The thing is, I usually do that when I'm in the middle of cooking or something - I know there's going to be more garbage, so it makes sense to jsut wait until I'm done and then take it out (by which time, I usually forget but that's another point entirely!)

But there's no excuse for the laundry piling!

THe piling only occurs in the little trash cans - like I have one in my bedroom and one in the bathroom - partly cause they are little (a empty tissue box takes up the whole thing!) and party cause I take all the little ones out at one time (so it is kind of annoying to do). Oh and partly cause I'm lazy Other than that I am anally clean - go figure!

Meanwhile, FH has a HUGE laundry bin - why does he wear so many clothes?

Oh, I'm the laundry fairy...I pick it up off the floor, wash it dry it, fold it and put it back in the drawer where good clean laundry lives.

He doesn't know what laundry is.

THis is probably the biggest pet peeve:

He will pile the dishes and pots and pans high in the sink...it will sit for days! Until I clean them up.

Oh boy - this sounds like my FH. He leaves his dirty clothes next to bed. Every morning I go and pick them up and put them in the hamper. Really, how hard is this! And then once all the laundry is clean - I can be done folding 5 tshirts before he folds 1 and then when he does fold em he does it in a crazy fashion. I get annoyed and refold them anyway! (No wonder he doesn't want to help - I complain the way he does things - he probably does that on purpose though!)
