I just want to say that we are using the Strings - we have heard them and they are great!!!

As for the The Caleps we were interested in them but heard that they were breaking up at the end of 2003 and in the new year broken up into 2 groups (not sure of new group names), but here's the number that I have 718-234-3400

We booked them too! I'm so happy to hear of other li brides using them. When we booked them last year, I didn't know of anyothers using them since they are a NJ band. I think the girl lead singer was fantastic. Have you ever heard them play at a wedding?

Re: ITALIAN/AMERICAN BANDS -- HELP

No we haven't. But we were so blown away when we saw them at their showcase that we felt there was no room for doubt! I'm excited to see someone else using them as well. How do you know them. I honestly don't even remember where I first heard of them. People thought we were crazy going to NJ to hear a band but now I'm so glad that we did.

We started looking for bands about 15 months before the wedding - thinking we had plenty of time. All the big name bands - caleps, mgm, carozza brothers, were already booked! I must have gotten their name from one of the message boards and out of desperation, drove all the way there and decided to give them a try. Thank goodness we did because I don't think I'ld be happier with any other band. I think what got me was when the guitarist sang 'What a Wonderful World' in Armstrong's 'exact' voice. They have such a range too!

Yes! When we were there the guitarist sang Armstrong and Sinatra one after another and both were incredible. After that we felt they could sing anything we asked them too. They also took a couple requests that night on the spot which I loved because many bands we saw wouldn't do that. I thought that showed confidence on their part. I wish I knew someone who has had them for their wedding though. I'd love to hear a positive review.

Re: ITALIAN/AMERICAN BANDS -- HELP

Does Imagine still play? My best friend had them at her wedding because the singer worked with her in her brother's pizzeria. They were awesome, but I heard they split. I don't know for sure. I also heard great things about ADA, I think they were friends with Imagine. My MOH/best friend wanted to fix me up with Angelo, but I think he had a girlfriend at the time.

We defeinitely had a number for Imagine at one time. So I know they are still around. We just never got around to seeing them. I've heard of ADA also but don't know if we ever got as far as getting contact info for them.

Re: ITALIAN/AMERICAN BANDS -- HELP

My dad is a musician, so he called a bandleader who he has known for years and he put a group together. He is Italian-American, so he is going to do all of the Italian stuff.

Imagine was great. Carmello, their singer, is SO sweet and funny

That is so cool that your dad was able to do that!

We went to see ADA but not at their showcase. I think they only have one per month and we had to make a decision fast - so we went to their office and watched a 20 minute video of their stuff. It gave us an idea but I don't think its the same as a showcase. We talked to Vinny and he was very nice - I think his wife is in the band too.

Overall ADA is a good choice and as far as Italian bands are, they are reasonably priced. I think they are a five member band

Re: ITALIAN/AMERICAN BANDS -- HELP

Well, to be honest, my cousin's husband is one of the singers for ADA - its him and his family. They played at all our family weddings and I thought they were good.

I recommend you give them a call.
