I'm curious to know if this is a real tradition, or my mother disguising her ability to be controling. She SWEARS UP DOWN LEFT AND RIGHT that it's an Italian tradition that the invitation be HAND delivered to the grandmother of the bride, WITH postage on it. I have to say, I do think she's crazy, so please let me know if this is real!

Re: Italian brides...is this REALLY a tradition?
I cannot believe that there's other crazy people out there! I thought I was the only one! My mother INSISTED I do this! My grandmother would not have come to the wedding if I hadn't (my cousin didn't and she didn't go). It's some kind of fu--ed up respect thing, but definitely Italian!
