Aww! It stinks when family moves away! I'm so sorry! I'm sure that you'll both make the effort to travel and visit each other!

because that is how she is. it's a long story. my sister is the kind of person that only calls when she needs something otherwise you don't hear from her. now that she is 3,000 miles away i have my doubts that she'll call.

aww! That is so sad! If I had a sister I wouldn't let a day go by that we didn't talk. But I guess if I really had a sister that would go out the window

Why would your sister decline MOH?? I cant believe that! I understand that you are upset but your sister may be a bit on the selfish side if she cant call u just to say whats up & how r u??? U should talk with her about this. Im sorry because you really want to have a goodrelationship & she is off in her world. Maybe when she gets older you will have this type of relationship u want. Maybe when she gets married she will understand what this all means to u!

she is moving with her boyfriend 'because she wants to travel' she has NEVER been there before and she thinks that it's 100x better there than here(Long Island). being that she's never traveled before she can't really say that it's better. she just has no concept of reality. she is living in a house with someone she has never met before and she's never seen the house.

Oh no! I'm so sorry. My sister lives in NC and we used to fight a lot when she lived here but absence really makes the heart grow fonder! I miss her so much but she visits often. Hopefully you'll get closer through the separation.

Sounds to me like she's in lala-land. Give her a few years to make some mistakes and she'll realize how important family is.

i've tried explaining this to her and she told me that she's never getting married. that she's not into the whole 'wedding' thing. whatever that means. i want to havea good relationship with her because i have always had a close relationship with her. but over the past 2-3 years it hasn't been that way.

Sorry for crashing, but it just sounds like she going through a phase. Shes younger and still in the world revolves around me way of thinking. Usually girls go through that in their late teens so maybe shell be coming around soon. I wouldnt worry about her moving to Cali, i have a feeling shell be back. Ive known like 10 people who moved off the island at that age and pretty much all of them came back within a year.

Well even if she doesnt believe in the wedding thing, she should still be your MOH. She should respect you enough to say this is my sister and this is really important to her. Trust me, her mind will change when its her turn to get married - she may not want to now but she will. And sometimes people need to find their own way. I guarantee that she will move back within the year. After she realizes that paying rent while living with strangers isnt all its cracked up to be.

It wouldn't surprise me if she didn't show up. She hasn't even asked how wedding plans are going. she did tell me that it bothered her that everyone is talking about me getting married and no on is talking about her moving. Maybe she's upset because I'm younger and I'm getting married?
