It's official....I HATE FMIL!!!

Original post by jeffamanda080808

I've made it clear...crystal clear that one only one child is invited to my wedding. That is FH's 9 year old nephew and Jr Best Man. FH's mom just called up and said 'Aren't you excited that XXXXXX's baby is going to be at the wedding?' We just found out that FH's cousin is pregnant. The baby will be 3 months old...I'm not having an infant at my wedding......PERIOD. It's not like they can't get a babysitter for the night. His cousin's husband has family that can watch them. FH said to her 'Kids aren't invited to the wedding. (FOLLOWED BY SILENCE)...can I talk to you about this later?' And then he hung up on her.

Now I have to go see the evil bit@H at 6:30 before we go to a Christmas party at a friends house. I'm just goint to say to her....'There are no kids allowed, that is it. If they can't come because they don't want to leave the baby with his mother, then they shouldn't come.'

I am so aggrivated by this. I told her months ago I needed a final list of who she wanted to invite...then she assked 6 more last week. She is only paying for the recearsal dinner and was pissed because we told her to go for the open bar not a cash bar.

I just can't stand her.......

why in the world would anybody want to bring their 3 month old baby to a wedding. That is just ridiculous to me, there will so much noise, and at 3 months babies sleep so much its just not a place for a 3 month old

That is what I am hoping. FH is going to call her tomorrow and officially congradulate her and get a feel. They aren't even that close with them which is why this shouldn't even be an issue.

A 3 month old? C'mon people .... the baby's bedtime will almost be before the cocktail hour is over if it starts at 6:30!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We had similar situations with a 9 month old and a 1 year old, they were not invited. It was a very stressful thing to go through, and I can't understand why parents would even WANT to bring an infant to a formal evening affair.

I think 1 of those parents still hasn't gotten over it, but I say

Wish I had advice, so instead here are some

good point, maybe they dont even plan on bringing their own kids and the FMIL is just saying it. To me its just crazy, i would never bring my 3 month old to a wedding

please update us with the outcome.. A 3 month old does not belong at a wedding.. No kids means no kids. I can see why you are angry

FH & I are @ his friends house...so I can't really talk. But when we were at the party I heard FH say.. 'There is no way a 3 month old should be at a Friday night formal affair.' Then after a few drinks he said to me....'Would they bring the kid to their Christmas party...a formal fancy affair?' I just said ...tell her how you think tomorrow.

FYI...while at the party FMIL called to see if 'SHE' changed her mind about kids at weddings.................

it sounds to me like you FMIL should be the one not invited to the wedding, i am kind of in the same boat as you in terms of FMIL's so if you wanna chat FM me!! Good luck with everything remember its YOUR WEDDING and if she doesnt like it tell her to F U C K off...

Re: It's official....I HATE FMIL!!!

I would think that most people would respect your wishes of no children, or would at least have enough common sense to know that is not the place for an infant or toddler.

As far as your FMIL I think she may be pushing your buttons over anything she can concerning your wedding. Just don't take her $!!@^@ to heart, then she wins

Had a similar situation w/ FMIL, wanting to invite family/friends that even my FH had no idea who they were or how they were related?!?!?! We gave her a finalized list of people invited from that side of the 'family' - the closest relatives and friends (FH was a big part of this list making). We told her that she is welcome to invite beyond that group but will be responsible for paying for them at the RH

Once that was said..subject got dropped VERY quickly!!! LMFAO

Please let us know what happens!

Re: It's official....I HATE FMIL!!!

i say cut out the mother in law and go straight to the pregnant cousin and you and FH explain that as excited as you are that shes having a baby, you are not having children/babies at the wedding and that it is up to her whether or not she would like to come without the child

then if your FMIL brings it up again just say 'i have already discussed the matter with XXXXX so you dont need to worry about it'

the best way to handle stuff like this is to cut out the mothers lol i am learning that

GOOD LUCK!
