Diamond white tends to look better on me because im blonde.. thats what i think? its weird.. maybe its me.. but i feel like ivory tends to look dull on me, is there like a thing where blondes look better in white and brunettes ivory? i love my dress its ivory.. and i feel like it might look better in diamond white.. my friend said ivory reminds her of more a classier look, esp with tulle.. any advice?

My dress is diamond white metallic and when I ordered it we thought it was ivory. It wasn't that bright white and even the people at the store thought it was ivory! I would try on another dress by the designer in diamond white before ordering your dress in it, just to make sure its the color you want :)

i personally cant tell a difference. but ive been told that ivory looks better on lighter skin tones while darker skin tones can pull off white and diamond white. i tried on a diamond white dress and i loved it but everyone said i looked sallow in it (thanks for the opinions BP lol).
the dress i ended up with is ivory. and im kinda light skin with blondish hair.

I think in the end its a personal preference. I tried on white and loved the way it looked. I'm pretty fair-skinned and alot of pale girls get ivory. But I loved the way the white looked. I think it just depends on the person.

ITA I'm light skinned brunette and my dress is ivory. But I tried diamond white dress and looked great in it too (in fact sales people wanted me to get that one). My dress I ordered in ivory cause I felt the dress looked better in that color

I agree too! I tried on white and ivory gowns and I loved ivory on me even tho I always enisioned my wedding dress in white.

I am a light skined blonde and ivory looks the best on my, the other whites made me look too washed out. I think it depends on your skin tone more then hair color but whatever will make you happy is what you should go for!

i think it all depends on what you personally like on yourself and what you feel looks the best.
At first I thought I would get Ivory because of my skin tone, but I tried on both Ivory and white and they both looked good, my dress is white and it looks good with my skin tone, just have to decide what color I will have my hair that day

I really think it is up toe the person and also the dress maker because one ivory might look different from another brand. I ordered ivory but it looked light to me but we shall see when it comes in. I am pretty light skinned and didn't want to look even paler.

For some reason...white just looks horrible on me and makes me look washed out - and I have blonde hair. My Mom even says I look like crap in white (thanks Mom) LOL. Anyways - I ordered an ivory dress as ivory looks better on me....IMO it all comes down to your personal opinion.

I'm a blonde and I'm wearing light gold...I felt that white/diamond white/ivory washed me out too much.

When I found my dress it was an exclusive dress and the store only had that one in Ivory, and since it was an exclusive dress I could not find it in any magazine's or online to compare the ivory vs. white.
Everyone told me to order ivory due to my skin color (it was January and had no make-up so of I was very pale) and the store said many of the times the designer will send the color it feels will sell the best. Although, I always imagined myself in white and I really wanted the white deep inside. I initially ordered Ivory but it was really on my mind, so days later I changed to white - my dress just arrived, so I will be seeing it for the first time in white this Thursday (hope I am not disappointed).
Like many have said, it really comes down to personal preferance and what you love & feel most comfortable with the best.
