ivory wedding dress and tux color

The bridal salon told me that bc I'm wearing ivory the guys tux shirts need to be ivory too or I will look dirty. My mom thinks that's crazy and silly and not necessary!
Idk what to do!?!? Is this true?

I had a panic attack over this... But I went to a tux place (NOT Men's Warehouse) and was given the best advice. The guys wear white shirts but an ivory vest and then what ever color tie or bowtie you want. The guys said ivory on top of ivory does not look right. Our dresses will not look dirty with an white shirt and ivory vest.

And heads up the ivory at Men's Warehouse if you go there is pretty much yellow

Bridal shops scare you more... Check out pictures of past brides on here you can see when a guy wore a white shirt but ivory vest and the bride had ivory on.. Doesn't look bad at all

And on a funny note (wasn't funny at the time) my fiance called me from Mens Warehouse and said and I quote 'Your dress is yellow?' I was livid and then went I went in and saw their ivory and their lack of knowledge I understood.

But you should go to a tux place where they can reassure you

I have FH in a classic black and white tux and I'm wearing ivory.. I've seen it in 1000 of pictures on Pinterest and loooks just fine to me!

We went to men's warehouse.. the Ivory is yellow, that's why I didn't pick it.. the classic black and white looked good :)

When I went to the Mens Warehouse 1. the woman seemed like she had much better things to respond to on her phone then help me 2. she acted like I was the first person in history to say my dress is ivory and I was told to have them in ivory 3. the ivory tux shirt they have was most defintely yellowly tinged

There were ivory dress shirts there that could've worked but I had no desire to try to make it work at a place that made me feel like I was crazy and had really ****** customer service. So that's why we went elsewhere and we just stumbled upon Tuxedo World but I think it's local to Staten Island... However they did say they specialize in out of town rentals??

One would think a store that specializes in mens attire for weddings would get it right with their 'ivory'

I went to MW and they had the guys wear white shirts even though I'm ivory.

I'm doing ivory shirts and vest for the groom, but I went to a few shops and depending on the quality it depends on the color... some looked yellow some matched my dress, I ended up going higher quality with ivory and ivory... also I have 3 of 5 groomsmen out of town and they just gave me the measurements to get and when to get them by (6 weeks out) and they'll have a final fitting party with beer and catered food... I'm sorry but I was not allowed to go to men's warehouse! Attached is the groomswear...

My concern is that the out of town groomsmen is large and abnormal size. He is only coming in the day before the wedding. The day of the rehearsal. I'm afraid there will be a missing and no time to fix it.

They promised they would alter the tux right there, but my rehearsal is two days out so they have a day extra.. and 2 of my groomsmen are 6'6 and one is grossly skinny and one a little chubby!

We are using mens warehouse and our wedding is on Sunday and my groom went on Wednesday 4 days before to try on final tux and it needed to be altered and they did it in one day and he picked his tux next day ..Thursday.. So they do things quickly a MW..he got the white shirt, ivory vest and ivory tie..as a back up we bought a black bow tie ..so if he really hates it when he sees my dress we will lose the ivory vest and tie and just do the white shirt and black bow tie..my groom must of visited mens warehouse every month for the last 8 months and they were great about switching it ..he switched it like every month cuz he was so undecided

I guess I should add that my fiance wears all black every day. So he resfuses to wear the traditional groom attire. White shirt with ivory vest, white shirt with silver vest even! I think he was thinking white shirt black vest. I'm worried about the white shirt against my ivory dress.
Maybe he will want a black shirt and colored vest, or silverish grey. I guess I better get down there with him to look around.
