Good luck and keep us posted <3

Thanks! I think I have decided to just wait. I can enroll immediately after the 'change in status' but we wouldn't be a able to get everything done in time (get the marriage certificate and submit it) to cover the cost of my procedure. We re-evaluated our budget and I think we will be ok.

If it was possible for us to do it on 'Our Day' this year I would be more likely to go for it. This way I never have to be careful saying/writing the wrong date! lol
The more I've thought about it the more it kind of sounds exciting. Also is it possible it would make me much less nervous in front of all my guests day of..because hey we would already be married! lol

But for now, I will stay a Miss.

Thanks everyone for the help and opinions (from both sides). I am thankful I finally joined in on the LI wedding chats, I look forward to more chat/help and sharing everything with you Ladies!

My FH and I have already said that if one of us gets a full time job with benefits before we get married, we will go to city hall and get married on paper. I don't think there's anything wrong with that. I'm sorry you're going through a health problem. I'd definitely take advantage of his health insurance by gettig married on paper if I was you.

this exactly. it's JUST PAPER until you make that big commitment in front of everyone. and health is so important and you gotta run with it when you can!

J.O.P???

I would totally do it! It's literally just a piece a paper that will end up saving you SO much money. It will only accrue meaning if you apply meaning to it. Your health is much more important and you won't need to skimp on procedures or medications due to out of pocket costs.

J.O.P???

FH is in the military so when he gets back from deployment later this year we are going to get it on paper and not tell anyone. We're still going to have the big wedding next October, but for insurance purposes and issues coming up while he has been away, it just makes sense for us. We would love to move the wedding up to this year but it's not financially possible.
