Jack and Jill Shower
Is anyone here having a Jack and Jill Shower? My FH and I have talked about having a Jack and Jill shower and we both like the idea since we did not have an engagement party. I also can't imagine being at a party without him since he's been a part of every second of the wedding planning thus far.
What are some fun things that we can do at the shower so everyone is entertained?

Bridal shower where men and women are both invited.
We don't plan on doing this, I don't think I can justify having a huge engagement party and then a shower for both of us. In your situation though, I would probably consider it!

Jack and Jill Shower
I personally wouldn't have one. I like the idea of a girly day with the ladies, a nice brunch, the whole tradition of it. I only know of one person who had it & I cant comment on how it was because I couldn't make it. That being said, they like you did not have an engagement party, and made it more of a party then a shower, they had a DJ & it was at night. HTH!

Jack and Jill Shower
I actually just heard of this kind of shower. Apparently people in the New England area do it a lot. I don't think we will be having a Jack and Jill shower. I think my FH would be bored and I like the idea of just the ladies!

Jack and Jill Shower
Crashing.I went to a Jack & Jill baby shower, given by the mother of the dad to be (only son). It was more of a party, just a few baby decorations. If you want to open presents or play any games, this is not for you.

Jack and Jill Shower
I'm not going to be doing this, but one of my BM's brothers had a Jack & Jill shower last year...everyone had a blast! They had it at a country club so that the men could have drinks while they played golf and the women did the standard shower things inside. After the men were done, they all sat down and ate together while the couple opened their gifts.

Jack and Jill Shower
Is it bad that I dont want my FH at my shower. lol I've always invisioned a girly day with my friends & family. I just don't see men at the shower in 'my vision' (until we need to pack the car, then they can come!) lol

It's not bad at all! I know it's the tradition to have girls only but I feel bad leaving my FH out of things, especially wedding related things. That's just me!

Jack and Jill Shower
Since my FH's family is extremely far from my family (my family on Long Island, his in Binghamton), my FMIL wants to throw me a second bridal shower. I suggested that since it would be mostly FH's family, and my second shower, I would love for it to be a Jack and Jill. I dont know most of them, so having an all-attention-on-me party without most of my family sounds more like a panic attack than fun to me. But FMIL was practically offended by the idea of men at the shower. FFIL basically mocked FH by asking if he really wanted to sit around all day sipping champagne and opening gifts (As opposed to letting me do that while they go grab a beer and a meal). SO I guess I will not be having a Jack and Jill shower after all, but I do love the idea of them. I am typically very traditional with all of the wedding stuff, but I just cant get around feeling extremely awkward for an entire day without the comfort of my FH.

Not at all! I am a traditionalist so I envisioned the men later on too

Re: Jack and Jill Shower
FH isn't really interested in a jack and jill and I thought it was cute but we're probably going to have a combined bachelor/bachelorette party so the bridal party will be the all about me girly day :)

Jack and Jill Shower
i personally wouldnt have a jack and jill shower, however have attended two of them. My cousin had her bridal shower like that and it was fun. Shes not the girly type with attention on her all the time so it was much more relaxed and informal. Def something to do if you would feel uncomfortableWelcome New Vendors
