Re: JANUARY BRIDES.....??
I'm mailing them later this week - and our RSVP date is December 7th.
Our home mail is HORRIBLE...so we didn't want any to get lost in the holiday rush... This way - i have plenty of time to call the NON RSVP people & i can get the seating plan and everything DONE without having to rush!!

im not a january bride but normally you send out invites 8 weeks before the wedding and make the rsvp date about a month before the wedding

My concern about that is our date is a Holiday Weekend - Martin Luther King Jr day is the day after the wedding. We wanted people to be able to make travel plans - as it tends to be a VERY expensive time of year...

oh yeah i completely understand, i forgot to put in that typically you send 8 weeks ahead of time but i know alot of ppl do it even more in advanced, its pretty common, especially for all of you in january bc there are ALOT of holidays right before the wedding so its a smart idea

well im the worst at math but this should be easy hahahaha
it should be ok, it gives your guests a month to rsvp and then you have time after the rsvp date to call those who didnt reply yet(which there will be)

to be honest with you - the lady who i got my invitations from and a few websites i have read say that the earlier you send them out, the more likely people are to lose them and not RSVP - if they get it closer to the RSVP date they will send out the RSVP right away
my friend sent them out and we all got them the next day
all of my OOTers have flights already - i didnt do STDs but i contacted them by phone when i booked my hall and they all got back to us at a later date to confirm the date.

Re: JANUARY BRIDES.....??
I'm gonna send it out like 20th of october, and have an rsvp date of november 19th.. this way its before thanksgiving, and they have enough time to make reservations, because they have to book their rooms before december 3rd, if they want a group price!

Re: JANUARY BRIDES.....??
We just ordered ours tonight and we put down Dec. 16th as our RSVP date. We know we will probably have to make calls for the notorious non-responders, so we wanted to have some extra time. I think he said we'll be getting them in 2 weeks.
