Japanese Restaurants in Queens or close to it.

Original post by ant n tilde

Every year for my birthday we go to Ruth's Chris but its Dec 21 so it always takes us over two hours to get there due to holiday traffic. So this year I wanted to switch it up and try a new Japanese place . . . any suggestions?

Thanks!

do you want sushi though or habachi?

sushi

are there any places on austin st?

the thing is that FH drank too much at this Japanese restaurant and got VERY sick SO he can't eat sushi anymore ( you know how that happens. . .i still cant eat banana splits! LOL ) so the only way i can get him to take me is if its for my birthday so i am trying to use that!!

ok first i realized i spelled it habachi

i know there is one small sushi place but its like this small hidden one. They do have a hibachi place on queens blvd though

LoL that is so funny bc I went to write Hibachi but i stopped and went back to your post to see how to spell it...LoL

ive been there too, the rock shrimp is delicious...i got sick though but i get sick anytime i eat asian fusion, thai and all that...theres also a place called wave in astoria that is thai...or you can try the restaurant sea in williamsburg-YES go there, its very different and alot of fun. If you want more quiet place then sea isnt it but very unique

Sorry Tilde all my favorites are on LI or in the city. If you don't mind treking out here there is Tai Sho in Massapequa (right up the block from All American). They have a Sushi restaurant and next door they own a Hibachi place that serves both so if he would preferred cooked food he can get that.

Or in the city we just ate at Haru on Broadway. It was really good not that expensive.

i always forget about that place!! maybe we should just go there

i have ordered from there and i really like it!! it stinks bc even places that are kind of close - it takes hours to get there if i go on my birthday.

last year it took two hours to get to ruth's chris and i was hysterically crying bc my birthday was ruined, lol i am a baby!!!

Narita on Austin is very cool. You get to sit on the floor. they have both sushi and hot bento boxes.

I highly recommend (its not in Queens but it's worth the trip) Sushi Palace in West Hempstead.
FH and I go there all the time.
