Re: Jewelry Judge??
When I went back in September, I think I had to wait about a week or so. He was really booked. He might not be as booked now though. I don't know what his schedule is like.

Anytime!
I hope you get in too. That's strange that no one is answering. Good luck!

Re: Jewelry Judge??
I didn't know he didn't take walk-ins- this is good to know as I needed to get two of my mother's rings appraised.
I'm glad I have his web site information too.
Anyone have a clue as to what he would charge for two rings? Also do they clean them for you or do I have to get that done seperately?

I looked for prior posts on here to find a cost, and a lot of girls said around $100, but then I found another post that said it depends on the total carat weight of your ring.

Yike then it might cost me a small fortune- I have recently gotten back two engagement rings that belonged to my deceased mother- one ring alone looks like a rock! The other looks about 2 carats worth of diamonds total
I need to have them cleaned though they have been sitting in the family safe deposit box for over 30 years.

Re: Jewelry Judge??
You definitely need to make an appointment...I went over the summer and waited over a week.
He charges based on the value of the ring. The better quality/bigger carat, the more you'll pay.

I had mine done on a Saturday. Definitely make an appointment..if I recall correctly he has limited Saturday hours. And he charges by the appraisal amount, I believe?

That's OK....at least you'll be protected! The greatest thing is that once insured, through most companies at least, you really have NOTHING to worry about.....misplacing it, dropping it somewhere that you can't get it, having it stolen from you, broken....I mean anything!
Also keep in mind that although carat size does matter, he adjusts the value based on the color/cut/clarity of EACH individual stone. If they are all close to flawless, then I'd say you are going to break the bank and I'd also say, show us your bling! lmaooo

Re: Jewelry Judge??
I think I paid about $150 for mine. He sits and goes over everything with you and shows you everything he's doing as well. He cleaned the ring for me too!
I think $100 for the first carat, $25 for each after that sounds about right, from what I can remember!
