Jewish Brides - Invitation Question
Hey ladies,What is the saying that goes on top of the invitation and what are the letters? My FMIL told me about it but she doesn't know the name of the saying. I wnat to know it to make sure the invitation person knows exactly what we are saying.
thanks!
Samantha

Re: Jewish Brides - Invitation Question
I think that the saying is 'Baruch Hashem' but I'm not sure what the letters are... I think it's a Bet and a Heh (but don't quote me on that). Maybe the invitation person can just look at other Jewish Wedding invitations and see what was on those...

Re: Jewish Brides - Invitation Question
well, there are a few sayings- which one do you want? The Bet Hey (2 letters that go on the top right corner of the invitation) mean 'in the name of God'. That is used on most religous things.
The other one that a lot of people use is the saying in Hebrew 'Ani le dodi ve dodi li' which means 'I am my beloved and my beloved is mine'. That usually goes in an arch on the top of the invitation.
We actually put both on our invitations.
