Jewish Brides-- Ketubah Calligrapher?

Jewish Brides-- Ketubah Calligrapher?

I need my ketubah filled out by a calligrapher that can read Hebrew-- anyone know of someone?

My calligrapher gave me the name of a company that turned out to be a dead end and now I feel like am on a wild goose chase looking for someone.

Thanks!

If you find a calligrapher, let me know. Where did you get your Ketubah? I would love to get a decorative one that is not too ostentatious. Any suggestions?

I got mine at ketubah.com

Here is what it looks like-- more decorative and less 'religious'.. we thought anyway :)

I don't know about calligraphers, b/c we just ordered ours through Yussels and it came all finished. Goldi, Yussel's in Merrick has a huge selection of Ketubahs that come in all different styles and colors.

Randella, your ketubah is gorgeous!

We ordered ours at Zion Lion in Woodbury, and they have it calligraphered. I'm not sure if they will do it if you ordered it somewhere else, but it's worth a phone call.

Ask your Rabbi what text you should have on it and he probbaly will recoment a caligrapher.

It's a mizva for him to get you one so he will be happy to help. :)

Thanks for all of the suggestions. I always wanted a beautiful Ketubah. I think there is a Zion Lion in New Hyde Park as well. I know they have gorgeous things. I wonder if they have a registry. Id love to pick my own mezuzah and seder plate as well. The department stores have a few but nothing that I particularly care for.

We also looked at ketubahs at Zion Lion, but found the Yussel's had a larger selection. I wanted to register at a Judaica store, but they didn't have one...so now I have 5 sets of candlesticks, no kiddush cup, and no challah cover!!

I hear ya! the only seder plate you see int he stores is Lenox and I don't like Lenox. I will have to use FH's Bar Mitzvah kiddish cup, my Bat Mitzvah candlesticks and who knows WHAT as a challah cover. Maybe I could needlepoint one.

DH dug out his Bar Mitzvah kiddush cup when we had friends over for Shabbos.

I don't like Lenox seder plates either. There are some beautiful ones in the Judaica stores. Luckily, we won't be doing the seder any time soon!

There should be a Shabbos gtg. Then again if I were a GOOD Jew, I wouldnt be driving.

o sh*t, I need a challah cover??

We bought a new kiddish cup and are also using one that belonged to great great grandparents... Old and new- using the symbolism in the ceremony.

I don't think you need a challah cover for the ceremony - just Shabbos. Am I right?

ok- I am confused-- I am not a good jew.. you mean like in general- not wedding related right? I don't need one for the blessing during the reception right?

You don't eat anything in a Jewish wedding ceremony. Wine, step on glass, mazel tov - PARTY!
