Jewish Brides: music for ceremony?

Jewish Brides: music for ceremony?

What are you guys using/ used? I am torn: I really like the melody of Jerusalem of Gold. It's sounds so beautiful when just the violin is playing with no singing! But I am not sure if that music is appropriate for me to use to walk down the isle. What do you think?

I am letting my band decide what they'll play (I think). They violin player is the reason we've hired them, and I have seen him play during the ceremony, but can't remember which songs, it just sounded beautiful.

My Fh is jewish, but we are not having traditional jewish music for the Procession. They will play a piece as part of the prelude that is jewish - its something about friends and family I think it might have the word sirev in it

Anya, is there a real audio link somewhere online to this song? I don't mind listening to it, I can't do mp3's at work, but real audio works. I am not familiar with the song at all, at least judging by the name

I would use what you like... unless your entire family is really into Jewish music everyone will think that it ius really pretty. I actually had my BP and DH family walk down to the theme from ICe Castles. and I walked down to a piece I do not know because my moms friends who is a professional Violest played something for me...IMO it is all about what you like

Ok, never mind. I just found it. I know of this song by its hebrew verse 'Yerushalaim Shel Zahav'. I think its really pretty and it may have been played at our friends wedding, but i am not sure...

Re: Jewish Brides: music for ceremony?

I can download mp3's at home, not at work.... if you want you can email it here [email protected]. But anyway, I am pretty sure I know which song you're talking about... It's really pretty. Will the violist play it or will it be a recording?

Violinist will play it. If you saw Schindlers list, it's the music that plays when they bring flowers to his grave at the very end of the movie!

Try to listen to Erev Shel Shoshanim. I think it's beautiful - that's what I plan to walk down to.

Is this the right song, albeit not performed as well as a violin would?

Erev Shel Shoshanim

'Erev Shel Shoshanim'( it means evening of Roses) is what I will be walking down to and I will be using either
Bach's Air on a G String or Pachelbel's Cannon in D for the bridal party.

I love Jerusalem of Gold and planned on using it at my wedding. Lots of people told me they thought it was too depressing and so I ended up changing to
Erev Shel Shoshonim. I'm not sure if it was the right decision, or not.
