Jewish Brides (past and present) How many...

...yarmulkes did you order?

I am hoping to have no more than 200 guests and I am not quite sure of the split between men and women. It will be too close in time to order them after the RSVPs roll in. Id rather get them done and out of the way so it is one less thing for me to do. I am going to yarmulkes.com but will probably order them in person since I work not too far from there.

Also, did you order head coverings for the ladies if you got married in a temple? Is that done or just yarmulkes? I can't remember seeing them at any temple wedding. Maybe I am confusing it with a regular service when the ark is opened and the Torah is read.

Todah Rabah! (as if all of a sudden I speak Hebrew )

our caterer is ordering the yarmulkas for us. he was able to help us estimate how many to order and told us we can change the # if need be up until a few weeks before. I would definitely talk to your caterer, because they may include them. also, suede and leather were options.. and we didnt have to pay extra. I havent heard of having head coverings for the woman.. im not planning on it.

Thanks but the yarmulkes are the only thing that are NOT included. I will however ask him how many I should order based on my guest list. He throws in the napkins and mints with our names but no yarmulkes.

I ordered 10 dozen-- figuring half my guests would be men.. Anyway-- there were a lot of leftovers-- but they are so cheap- so who cares. We have plenty of yamulkes for years to come for sedars, etc.!

Doesn't shock me. In my family, they will take anything if it isn't nailed down. I have to make sure my caterer knows to tell people NOT to take my centerpieces - that the waitstaff will wrap the flowers and give them to the females as favors so EVERYONE can have something!

I dunno, for some reason, you don't often see favors at Jewish weddings and with our flowers being so plentiful, I think everyone should get them.

ya my family usually doesn't give favors. but at the last wedding they actually gave out krispy cream donuts! their wedding cake was made out of them too! it was actually kinda cute. we just did m&m's in our colors in a heart tin (our initials are m & m.) i really like your idea though. wish i would've thought of that, we had so many roses!

If you knew what we were spending on flowers, youd want every last pair of legs to walk away with a petal or two!

No samples yet. Towards the end of the night, the wait staff will be instructed to make bunches and the florist will have supplied them with colored tissue. I will have seals/labels made to use as a closure (also for the OOT bags so it isnt a complete waste). These are some of the flowers the florist grabbed just to show colors and style but it is far from what the centerpiece will be in actuality. It should be as much as 4 times the amount of flowers on top of a tall glass vase filled with the viney twiggy things and orchids.
