I know the wedding ring that's given to the bride is supposed to be plain (no diamonds / engravings / holes / etc) .... does the grooms ring also need to be plain?
TIA!

Re: Jewish Brides (ring question)
i *think* they're both supposed to be but we're not following that tradition anyway

Re: Jewish Brides (ring question)
yes both rings have to be solid old. Its because your union is eternal...circular etc. Borrow bands and use them and then you can wear the bands you picked out after the ceremony :)

Yes, rabbi told us that they have to be plain. Depends on your rabbi.

this is what my Rabbi said as well. he said u can have diamonds if we want just as long as the gold is solid all around we are using a Sephardic Rabbi and in a Sephardic cermony only the woman gets a band (the man can either have it or not, totally up to the couple)

Re: Jewish Brides (ring question)
I was told that both the bride and groom need to have a plain gold wedding band, no diamonds.

totally depends on the rabbi. ours is letting me use a diamond eternity band for the ceremony.

Re: Jewish Brides (ring question)
During the Chupah, only the groom puts a ring on the bride. So I don't think it matters what ring he has. Rabbi didn't even look at my grooms ring. After the chupah I just gave it to DH.

I thought it could have a design, just that the design had to go around the whole ring unbroken.

Re: Jewish Brides (ring question)
i thought there is no written rule for men since the whole ring ceremony was just meant for the female and now out of tradition, people do a dual ring ceremony. I thought only the female ring had to be gold and plain and there was no criteria for men.

20 years later, my sister still hasn't forgiven my mom for making her do a plain gold band with no bling!

we're just having a plain ring for the ceremony itself ... it'll be switched for the real rings (the blinged out ones) before CH

Re: Jewish Brides (ring question)
Although rabbi says band needs to be plain, my band will not be--- I'll be borrowing the plain band from my mom for ceremony
